During setup can the measuring tool be used as u are figuring out what speed to start at? It is during "course setup" right?

I'm going through the 3 documents for Rules right now.

The Measuring Tool can only be used during the "Determine Course" part of Movement.

You can pre-measure with the Range/Distance Ruler at any time, however...

I remember reading somewhere that the movement tool may be used to assist deployment - will have to look up where I saw it.

Cant find it in the RRG, L2P or the Tournament rules, so wonder if it was an email query that someone put in and posted the response? Im pretty sure I am not imagining things! lol

You're not Crazy. I went looking through all of them for the same thing, but found nothing... There was originally a line about not being able to use specific 'setup templates' to let you set up perfectly, but I couldn't find that line either.

I'm also remembering but not finding this rule.

I don't believe so, as I don't, have not, and most probably never will play X-Wing

It may be that it was present in a previous draft of the Tournament Rules, and has been deleted since.
