The other interceptor

So I've been wanting to make the M-3A interceptor work because I think it's a cool little ship and I figured I'm up to the challenge so I came up with a build

Serissu...20

-Scyk title...2

-Heavy laser cannon...7

-Crack shot...1

=29

Cartel marauder...14

-Scyk title...2

-Heavy laser cannon...7

=23 X2

Binayre pirate...12 X2

Total...100

I was also thinking of maybe swapping out the hlc for a mangler cannon and stealth device on each of the m-3a's. Any comments or criticisms are welcome on the list and any ideas for the m-3a would be appreciated!

4 HLC scyks do a lot of damage, but are pretty squishy:

Your version loses the double PS 8 shots in favour for 2 blocker zeds which isn't necessarily worse as it adds more durability but at the expense of firepower.

To get more value out of your red dice, you could go with:

Serissu w/ swarm tactics or squad leader = 22

2 tansarii point vets w/ predator, 'heavy' & HLC = 29 x 2

Cartel Marauder (Khiraxz) = 20

Any of these lists could drop HLC to 'mangler' but instead of adding stealth device, I would suggest hull upgrade so that you are not as dependent on getting lucky with the green dice to keep your ships alive.

One last idea:

Serissu w/ squad leader = 22

2 tansarii point vets w/ crack shot, 'heavy', 'mangler' & hull upgrade = 27 x 2

1 tansarii point vet w/ crack shot, 'heavy' & 'mangler' = 24

Crack shot helps get the crits to stick once you bring down the shields, 2 hull upgrades gives a slight durability increase, although ultimately mangler will do less damage than HLC overall.

I find an HLC Scyk has to be the 3rd least imposing thing in the board. The only time I've felt success running one with a cannon is:

Guri+ Deadeye+ thrusters+ APT (or lone wolf + virago+ fcs)

Mux+ TLT

Spacer + HLC

Pirate

Spacer and APT guri and TLT Mux should easily PS kill anything but a YT or decimator. If they go for Mux, Guri is a solid end gamer, if they go for Her the spacer and Mux will keep PS Killing stuff thanks to Mux's ability. Pirate just mucks up the works.

The problem I have with Serissu is that it takes an 'interceptor' type ship and makes it want to fly in formation, which usually translates to jousting. Still, I like your list well enough. I personally defer to Manglers over HLCs, but I've been meaning to try out HLC on the Scyks.

Are you planning on flying all 5 together? Or will you send the Zs up ahead to block and deny actions? If you do the latter, it could be fun to put Dead Man's Switch on them.

It really isn't an interceptor at all. It lacks speed, maneuverability, and boost. It does not tie up enemy fighters. I want the Scyk to be SICK! But it's more of the sickly variety.
