Store champs are 2016. After Christmas. Truro Jan 9 X-wing.
So this happened in my area (Long post sorry venting)
Some super surreal parallels here with what's gone down recently at one of the stores near me in Wasilla, Alaska. (owner rage-quit on a tournament he had planned because we asked some polite and very relevant questions about the tournament, then lost a match in a subsequent tournament and put up a Facebook post trying to sell his collection). What's the deal with small-town shops above the 60th parallel? I feel a disturbance in the force...
Now I may be in the wrong here, but I believe owners (OT's and judges) shouldn't participate in the tournaments they organise.
Just to avoid this sort of nonsense.
Thing is they can participate if they have a judge to watch them. Being impartial isn't hard for me. Nor a problem with folks in our group.
Too bad your not local to FL I'd snap you guys up into our community in a heartbeat. I'd also pitch in and buy you a TFU core set for all your grief and invite you to the shop I play at for a weekend of hardcore friendly gaming simply cause I could. Best of luck bud and I hope you form a new community. It seriously pisses me off to see players treated like that.
This is not the first time in this post someone said something similar a few posts back.
Xwing players are a great bunch For the most part and just the suggestion means a lot.
Another example is one tournament next province over I was unable to make it due to people I was suppose to go with couldn't go.
At the time I didn't have the cash to make the trip by myself and the crew in moncton had offered to cover the travel cost.
I was blown away by their kindness and it meant a lot to me, but I kindly declined. Just the offer alone was enough to make me happy.
There are truly some fantastic players and community out there. I only wish it was like that here.
Maybe someday lol. Not today
Appreciate the kind words though ![]()
I'm not sure what those asterisks are censoring, but I can assure you that gamestore/comicstore owners being immature babies is VERY common.Yeah, that place seems like it sucks. Also surprised someone can be the /owner/ of a ******* board game store and be one of those 12 year olds that pouts when he starts to lose.
This is true, our local store manager once tried to ban MtG for taking up all his gaming tables,
Isn't MtG THE board/card game?
Half the reason most FLGS' can even exist is because of that game.

True. But apearantly there are people/store owners who consider themselves to be only about boardgames and dislike (selling) trading cards.
Effin' elitists man...
So did you end up going to the tournament? How did it go? I see they posted a picture of the winner on their facebook.
Oh God no
I'm not going to that store again.
I am telling people not to go there.
While he does have supporters in his Facebook I believe this is going to cost him
I've been pm by some who seemed to have listen to what I have to say and I know another who was pm by someone who apparently had things in the for sale as well and has been considering pulling out before this fiasco.
I guess some magic pre release didn't go that week either
Tarkin or something like that.
It was funny, he posted Thursday that people could use their own builds (the same day) and after all four seats were filled.
I'm currently in talks with a local brewery to possibly have a xwing night in there.
They have a boardgame night, and they are interested in having us.
Though it's only 2-4 players right now, at least I know it'll be adults.
Though I don't mind kids, as some have more brains than adults, this is a spot that may have room
Our lgs here are all pretty small places

This. Oh man, this!
Sounds like a trade-up!
Don't drink and fly, it usually doesn't end well. On another note, we haven't had quite the same issue here, though as a T/O I ran a game for a local store who didn't give second out due to numbers, which I only found out after the final round that he wasn't going to give second place what they had earned... Talk about a pissed off T/O and local community. If what happened here is anything to judge by it will haunt him for the rest of his business days. Give it time, karma is a *****

Depends on what they serve. Could be worse lol.
So it has come to my attention that the store owner apparently has something posted in his store.
It looks like something from ffg and allowing squads to be pre made by another party.
Or something along those lines
A really sad attempt to fake something from what I've heard
Update
Ffg has gotten back to me and there isn't anything they can do, but the distributor may
I've not heard back from them, but pretty sure they got in touch with the store, which is why he changed the post on the day of to allow people to take their own squads, but again this is after the whooping four seats were taken
