We were wondering something like already 2 weeks ago.. forget to ask that..

We had the Gold Digger rumor quest.. and we were wondering:

If you block the entrance/exit (in this case, the quest doesn't matter for the question anyway)..

like.. all 4 squares of the entrance/exit tile.. is it even possible to leave/walk off the map

to fulfill quest objectives and stuff?

How exactly does leaving work, anyway?

Get to the very end of the exit and then walk 1 more?

Or get on the tile and use a "special" action?

To exit the map you have to be on the designated spot, in this case the entrance/exit, and spend a movement point. It can be on the same move action, through a fatigue spent, ability that grants movement, etc. I don't have the rule book on hand to cite however, maybe someone else can help out.

What I'm not sure on is do you have to be on the back of the tile then spend a movement point (this is how I've played), or if you can be on the front and spend a movement point to get off the map. The tile is 2x2 as we know with a side attached and adjacent to the rest of the map (I label the front here), and a side attached and adjacent to nothing (I label the back).

To answer your original question about your example, yes the goal is blocked and needs to be cleared. I would think that if you can move to a space on the entrance/exit, even if it is the front and the back is occupied, you can spend the movement point for the victory. This kind of answers my own question but I would like something official.

As described in the inside front cover of the shadow rune quest guide- you need to be on one of the "back" spaces of the entrance or exit (the two spaces closest to the edge of the map) and then spend a movement point. a hero could not leave the map if a monster is blocking the exit, but he could leave the map if a hero is blocking the exit (since it's just like walking through a friendly figure to another space, just to "off the map.")
