Confirmed: Critical Damage effects stack

By MaverickNZ, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I queried if critical damage cards (like power failure) stack, or just work off the single value on the ship card. Also, if it did stack, did rounding occur at each step, or at the end?

From James Kniffen via email:

The Power failure damage cards are applied sequentially. If your engineering value was 5, it is reduced to 2 (5 to 2.5, rounded down to 2), then reduced to 1 (half of 2)

Wow. . . Do you know how telling that is. . . They are planning a ship with a high engineering score

Or he just chose that figure because it was a number that could be halved to create a decimal fraction which would need rounding before being halved again. Though he could have gone 3, halved would be 1.5, rounded down to 1, halved again is 0.5, rounded down to 0.

Wasn't it supposed to be rounded up?

EDIT: Never mind, I'm thinking of engineering tokens, not the critical damage card.
