Dangerous Covenants Baradium charge damage

By Warl, in Game Masters

Looking to see if anyone knows if there was an errata on this.

The Baradium charge damage is listed as base 3 +1 per addition charge.

Now, given, the blast radius is considered Long. So anything in long range is going to take the damage.

But this Explosive is listed as a Planetary Scale explosive. Shouldn't the damage delivered be bigger?

It is the most expensive explosive, But does the least amount of damage than any other explosive by a factor of 3, just for the base damage?

This makes absolutely no sense. For a kilo of any of the explosives, the one that is considered to be the most devastating does the least amount of damage, Heck, just a base charge isn't going to more than scratch Pcs, unless they are at engaged distance with it (+50).

Wondering if a 0 got left off these numbers?

I don't have the book in front of me at the moment. But, if the explosive is indeed a Planetary Scale explosive then you need to adjust damage from Planetary Scale to Character Scale. So for characters, it would be x10 damage. So base damage would be at least 30 to an unfortunate character on the ground caught in the explosion. Again, I don't have the book in front of me. That's my hunch.

so when it says planetary scale it is talking ship to ship damage? not personal damage? so the actually base damage instead of being 3 is 30? and instead of being +1 per charge is +10 in personal ?

Yes, that is what it is saying.

Yep. Blooey!
