My idea for the GR-75 is loosely based on Battlefront 2. In the game it is very modular, in some missions it is very anti-squadron heavy and in others it is not. Therefore I think that it should be a very customizable ship. I would give it 3 hull, 1 shield all around, and speed 3 brace, brace, evade; 1 command 2 engineer, and 1 squadron; 1 red die in the front and side arcs and 1 black die as anti-squadron. Upgrades I would give it turbo lasers and support team. Then one version would have defensive retrofit, while the other would have offensive retrofit. This is where it would shine seeing as retrofits can realy customize a ship a lot.
GR75 thought
I like nearly the entire statline you have Felswraths, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on the Turbolaser slot and say put in Officer instead. I think customization should instead stem from having a variety of titles to work with. For example I've always envisioned Bright Hope giving an extra red attack die for the front arc, a title that grants the Ion Cannon upgrade slot, one granting an extra squadron and others. Really I think hacing as many as five title options could make them a very sophisticated piece to weild.
Here's my other proposal: have only two arcs (front and rear) with higher shield values and make their base just a bit smaller. Not a squadron base! I think it's really important in gameplay terms that it still moves and is treated as a ship, just a small ship. There are two reasons for this: the ship itself is not specifically designed for combat, and Admiral Ackbar. While yes, out of nessecity the Alliance used the Gallowfree extensively, it truly was never meant to be purposed for direct engagement, much like the Frigate Redemption. It -can- be used to fight, but I don't feel it should actually feel even as strong as the humble CR-90 except in special circumstances. Having dozens of these on the board while fun on paper should not feel like a viable combat force.
So, have Brace and Evade, but only two hull zones with a single blue die front battery. Three hull, three front shields and two rear shields.
I thank you for your input LeoHowler. I think I agree with you that the GR-75 should not have a turbolaser slot, but disagree with giving it an officer slot. This is a small transport ship, while there will obviosly be a captain on it, I don't think that there would be any high ranking officers commanding on this shuttle. As to the base, I think that the ship should have a small base, but to compensate for size have two models on the base. I like your idea of the two hull zones and I love having lots of titles on this thing.
I'm glad we can find some common ground on our ideas. No officer is interesting as is having two transport for a single base... but it makes for a complicated way of viewing the rules doesn't it? Why can a single ship token have two ships but only one set of upgrades? Why does it move as a single ship? It raises a lot of silly questions.
I was also considering non-unique titles, similar to the Royal Guard title in X-Wing for specific Transport types.

If you look at DiabloAzuls unofficial card they are very close to that suggestion.. http://armadashipyards.com/2015/08/29/gr-75-medium-transport/
