Do you keep all of your tokens?

By PhantomFO, in X-Wing

Many of you are probably like me: people who have spent way, way too much on this game, and therefore have approximately five hundred shield tokens, and another two hundred focus and stress tokens.

When you crack open a new blister, are you still keeping all of those tokens?

I do. I know it's impractical, but there's still a part of me in the back of my mind that thinks, "One day, I'm going to run a match that uses every ship I own, and I'll really need 60 sets of Target Locks when that happens."

I keep them all. I no longer carry them all with me when I go to play.

You guys know about the thing where FFG reps randomly come to your house and demand that you produce every single token from every single pack you've bought, and if you can't they take away your collection, right?

Yes! I keep all the tokens as well......I set aside about 20 shield, 7 matching TL, and a handful of stress, focus, and evade tokens with my ships, the rest I store in a plastic Ziploc bag. Sadly the size of that bag as gone from a sandwich size Ziploc to a gallon size Ziploc, soon I'll need to find something else to store the extra ones in.

I do keep all the tokens, but I've trimmed down the number I actually carry in my organizer to game days. The rest are just in a big bag in my gaming closet.

For actual game days, I carry 16 each of focus, evade, stress, crit, and ion tokens, and around 30 shield tokens. I also have my most commonly used ID tokens separated out. I figure that's enough to guarantee I can always supply enough tokens for two whole squads, in case I'm playing with someone who is new to the game or forgot something.

Collection has gotten big enough I usually give them away. Couldn't use all of what I have if I ran every ship from a 2 factions at the same time. Es tan ridiculo.

I keep all of mine - I figure that after the apocalypse I'd like to play the game with other survivors for years to come and not have to use rocks and bark for tokens...

(the same reason I have two copies of every ship and core mint in box safely stashed in the bunker)

:P

My friend and I have only been playing Since PAX East this year, and in my Storage carrying PLANO box thing, i manage to store all of my ships and shield tokens, and foci and evades... Enough to field... oh lets say... 800 points worth of ships. inluded in that are TL's ID tokens focus evade stress crit (never used them) and every large and small base that i have gathered in the short period of time.

I've won enough acrylics that I can run 8 ships for both players so I throw away all the cardboard bow.

X-Wing tokens will be like the Fallout bottle caps won't they? Come the apocalypse?

But I prefer to store my ships battle ready, so each ship is stored with dial, base, base plate and all the necessary tokens for a basic load out.

I keep them all. (So far.) I have a shoebox where I keep "extra" stuff that I don't actually use. It's crammed full of bases, pegs, tokens, templates, and so on.

I tell myself that I keep everything for in case I sell stuff later, but the truth is that I'm OCD enough that it would bother me to throw it out.

It is reaching the limit where the sheer volume of unneeded stuff will overcome those OCD tendencies, though.

I wish I knew who decided it would be a good idea to have numbered ID tags for ships, but lettered TL tokens. 'Cause that's just plain goofy.

I'm with frying pan, but I still keep all the cardboard. I like to put 20 of each type in a roll, and wrap it in cellophane. You never know when you'll need 180 focus tokens, but when I do, I'm ready.

Yes, dont know why, because I use my acrylic tokens.

Some day I'm going to throw them away - I think...

Nope. I just recycled a bunch the other day when cleaning out my case.

I keep them all.

Despite the fact I use acrylics....

You could stuff a pillow with it...!

Like 'Jeff Wilder' I keep all mine due to a belief that I'll somehow need them if I sell up one day.

I'm beginning to think it'll be a liberating experience just dumping them all in the trash some time soon though.

Large collection. Redundant tokens get discarded.

I throw away all of the extra tokens now. I have 2 zip lock bags full of unused ones and a couple starter boxes full of unused ones. Then, I only really use acrylics when I play anyway.

I'm almost to the point where I feel I should be throwing away bases and pegs, too... I have several boxes of those as well. :(

This has got me thinking, and i'm thinking lego & rubberband blaster that can shoot tokens at my enemies ships!

Hey man you never know how many focus tokens you're gonna' need if you're playing Kyle.

I keep all of mine in the original cards they are printed on! I leave them in mint condition and keep all of the cardboard in empty Core Set boxes. When I need tokens, ship baseplates, etc, I dig out a new one and keep storage issues to a minimum. Also, if some get bent, worn, etc, I have brand new replacements!

I keep all of mine as well.

Many of them have gone on to feature in other games that need counters of various sorts but don't have them. The stress tokens make decent damage counters for other games, and the shields, focus, and evades can be resources, character levels, or whatever you want!

Cool idea! I'll have to keep this in mind!

I keep 'em all AND I've bought custom shield tokens (I think 40 of them or something?) AND I WILL ALWAYS HOARD
