Just got back from picking this little critter up from Lowes for about $16.

Largely because this thread reminded me that laser levels were a thing I wanted.

Can you give us a quick review? How do you like it?

Haven't really tested it yet. Literally got home less than an hour ago with it, but first impressions are that it'll do its job. Granted on a black background the laser gets a bit harder to see (tested it on my flat black coffee table), but that's to be expected with black being the eater of light.

I should imagine that on star-field maps with the bases, counters, and non-uniform graphical work usually seen on play-mats, it'll probably work just fine.

Tested it on my tan walls, and it was plenty visible.

Update: tested it on my dining room table with two of my star destroyers (dark surface, stands, ship counters, etc.) and it worked fine. Tested line of sight from one ISD forward arc to the others side and front arcs and the line was perfectly useful.

Worthwhile for a mere $16.

Ignore the rotating stand though, it has a pin for pushing into walls (which, incidentally I poked myself with before I knew) and probably could be safely tossed in a drawer and forgotten.
