Laser Line Targetlock

By VanorDM, in Star Wars: Armada

Best Picture I could take at my desk. Laser is beside the Camera (holding it in my right hand which is also hitting the button to take the shot).

I'll get more pictures of it while its in use on the Weekend...

And as I said, the battery bank is at least half dead on it already - due to the 2 year old, so it is definately brighter from here.

Regular day shooting conditions, too... Not a darkened room.

Other selling point for me was it uses fairly long lasting L44s. 3 Required, 4 Provided.

It says pre-order 2016? Do they not have any in stock?

I'm assuming you went through KS?

No, they're somewhat local to me, and they donated it as a Prize. Hence the "I won it" :D

But its something I would purchase off the shelf given my experience with it now.

I also believe my Local Mega Games Store, The Sentry Box (www.sentrybox.com) Kickstarted a bunch and have them for sale... But I havn't confirmed that yet. In the very least, they will be a stockist.

Only problem I have with my laser line, is people tend to shine it upside down and hit themselves in the eye.

I don't think it's available for regular purchase though... since the KS looks like it's not ready to ship yet.

Are you able to get it locally? Like walk into the store and buy it off the shelf?

I'll tell you that when I walk into the store on Sunday. Getting an hour across town on Public transport in the Snow with a 2 year old prevents me from doing so before that :)

From what I can tell from their Facebook - they will have them, but I don't know if they got a splash beforehand or something.

They may very well not.

I just know its a great piece for what I found. And being tiny is very useful.

I made one using a diode I bought on eBay, it's green so it shows up much better.

Having just replaced the batteries in my Broken Egg Games laser, it's still a really useful game aid and I haven't regretted buying it. The laser line itself is thick and bright (easily visible when I shine it on a faraway wall as a 20+ foot laser beam), the laser pen itself is the size of... well, a pen (so it fits in your pocket easily) and it only requires two AAA batteries for power. It's very easy to use. All the locals love the thing and I get compliments on it pretty regularly. They're out of stock at the moment but I'm sure they'll be on sale again once they're back in. It's not as cheap as a Harbor Freight laser or the Army Painter lasers, but it's much higher quality.

Availability: Out of stock

Good show.

Looking for alternatives and you post an out of stock product. Good show.

Does anyone know of an affordable green line laser to match my Imperial turbolasers?

I got one of these as a Consolation Prize at the last Sullust...

I'm very, very, very happy with it.http://gamesmith.ca/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=50

Hey, I'm very interested.

Can you drop the laser and take a picture and post it here? How does it compare to those 4.99 ones from the hardware store?

There is a huge variance in the quality of those things. Some are fuzzy, some are dim, some just straight don't work, but some are amazing.

There are probably fifteen of them floating around my community here, as well as the odd $30 purpose-made laser. Some are almost unusable, but some are even better than the expensive one. (I got lucky, pretty sure mine is the best one here :) )

Can confirm.

Ard uses lazer hax.

Perhaps then, you should have specified that you were looking for immediate alternatives, rather than alternatives that may well be available in the very near future... It would certainly have helped me feel a little less assaulted by replies, especially when they were questions I'd already answered, too...

Correct. This thread is a resource for people looking for line lasers at some indeterminate future point, not specifically about what HERO wants right now, despite his beliefs to the contrary.

OK. I was under the assumption when solutions are proposed they're normally in order of availability. Proposing an out of stock option is... not a very good solution.

It's fine, I'll just run to Lowes and get a line laser or something.

Just submitted an inquiry at AliBaba for a small order of the things, so we'll see what comes of that. I know most of my group is looking for the things so if it works out, should be a pretty cheap way for everyone to get their own.

The Harbor Freight one can be not terribly bright. The batteries were the culprit in the first one I got. It's cheaper to buy another than the batteries. :D

Check your local craft store for the batteries at a more affordable price. That is where I get all my small batteries now. 1/2 to 1/3 the price of Home Depot or Lowe's.

I have a Harbor Frieght down the road from me. Might be time for a little drive.

Just got back from picking this little critter up from Lowes for about $16.

Largely because this thread reminded me that laser levels were a thing I wanted.

Can you give us a quick review? How do you like it?
