There should be an errata for Epic Rules that states the following: Players are allowed a maximum of 12 of any individual ship type unless it is a TIE Fighter. Players may take as many TIE Fighters as they please. Have you seen Return of the Jedi?

As to Gozanti's, my personal goal is THREE!!! You've seen 'em in Rebels, packs of THREE!!! With all my Ties, I'll fill 'em easily!

One of my LGSs are running an Epic tourney on 28th November. What's the betting that this releases a few days later just to troll me? >.<

Can I just point out that the 12 tie rule only applies to tourney, and while Neko it's awesomeyou aregoing to one, most epic games are casual. so... Yeah, agree to house rules. God knows most epic games with house rules seem to be "must bring your factions corvette" variety.

At least one huge, Transport is fine, too. They just add that extra bit of epic to the epic format and playing without them just doesn't feel right. The thing about the 12 ship maximum is probably balance. Fighting 25 TIE Fighters doesn't sound fun for either side. Of course 14, 15 maybe 16 could still be fine, but you have to draw the line somewhere and I think a full squadron is a good point to do that. You can still field 11 PS1 TIEs, Howlrunner, and 8 PS1 Interceptors, but at least that list has some variety.
