Second Preview up - In Constant Danger

So I would have liked an explanation why the Ghoul attacked and not the Rats. Is it player choice? Is it supposed to be the highest untapped attack value? Seems they just glossed right over that part

Your assumption is correct in that the order of enemy attacks is determined by their attack value. Enemies with higher attack values attack first.

Ooo. Hero Quest dice 2.0! I like the mechanic. This is going to be a loved game in our house, can't wait!

Sorenthion,

Thank you for being active in the forums and supporting the launch of this game. I am super excited to see this game come out and hope it is a big seller! I am not sure if you can answer these questions or if I just need to wait, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

1. Any chance we can find out what is on the last side of the white die? I am assuming a blank, but just curious. Right now I see 4/6 sides with at least one success and the critical success mechanic looks like a lot of fun.

2. When the action card says to exhaust an action to get more value out of it, what happens if you exhaust your action with the "Ready all of your actions" text? Example: if you exaust Battle Prayers to trigger the effect on Righteous Fury, how do you ready your actions? Do they auto ready once all exhausted?

Thanks again!

I agree. This game is looking better and better with each preview -- and it already looked good to begin with!

You perform the elements on the card in the order they're written. As the cards with 'ready all your actions' have that as the last part, that means that after you play that card, you'll end your turn with all your actions readied. Next turn, you'll be able to choose any of them. There's no way I'm aware of to play two action cards in the same turn.

My guess would be that if you are exhausting Action-B in order to boost the effects of Action-A then you would not be able to use any of the effects that are listed on Action-B. The exhausting of an action in order to boost another requires you to choose which would be more helpful, having the slight boost now or that action later. If you could still use the effects on Action-B then there would be no trade off there. Since you'll never have less than two characters you'd just have to rely on another character using their Aid action to help you get your actions back, preferably your action that readies all of your other actions.

I suppose it would be possible for 2 characters to both get in this situation though. I wonder if there is a rule for that in the game since there isn't the traditional readying of actions at the end of a round. Maybe if all characters have all actions exhausted then each character gets to ready one action at the end of the round or something like that. Or maybe it's just game over, haha. They have been saying the game is supposed to be pretty hard.

And, of course, everything I've said is complete conjecture and could be completely wrong.

1. The other side of the white die is another single success side.

2. You cannot ever exhaust the action card containing the refresh icon. You can see this icon printed in the lower right-hand corner of the Warrior Priest's Battle Prayers card.

Haha. Like I said...completely wrong.

So since it can't be exhausted that means it couldn't be used to boost his attack ability, correct?

That's correct. You'd have to choose another ready card for that ability.
