Spoiler from new SW Comics

By CaptainJaguarShark, in X-Wing

I would be okay with this. It could be fun. Personally I want to see Norra Wexley, from the novel Aftermath, in a y-wing, along with her asyromech R5-G9.

The latest issue was rad as hell. I liked Leia's

force induced flashback to the presence of the sith.

Not to mention they put Jar Jar in the last Star Wars issue. He' s missing an eye now, and tried to get Luke killed. No i'm not kidding.

that was just a random gungan.

And Jar-Jar was the village idiot, other gungans are competent HE WAS EXILED, and they have sweet tech.

I think it looked like

Darth Maul

Princess Leia, the new Queen of Naboo, and the woman who may be Poe's mother fly N-1 Starfighters against a Star Destroyer. http://imgur.com/D9SrBYf They even did okay against a couple of waves of TIE fighters. Wave 9 anyone? EDIT:Also, to clarify, this is AFTER Endor. Yeah, they still work. :)

oh badass

It very plainly was, especially considering where it all occurred.

(Gungans would go extinct, though, consider that people)

Jar jar is annoying, the Gungans as a species are pretty cool.

(Virtually everything wrong with Gungans would be fixed with an alternate dialog track to change their speech patterns).

Fixed.

You didn't change the part where Gungans as a species are cool, so you must think they are cool as well.

Gungowned.

You don't think them melting into puddles of viscera after a virus bombing isn't cool? Or them screaming on fire as a fleet of stardestroyers vitrifies the planet?

that **** right there, that's cool.

They should just have dropped Naboo, that planet doesn't require to be forced into everything. Quite frankly, I would fund a third Death Star to get rid of it.

I haven't spoiled me on any details, but the notion that they took away Han and Leias happy end feels bad to me.

I assume that removing Naboo is the whole point of Starkiller base.

As a kid I preferred Decepticon toys, and Cobra toys. Always felt they were cooler. I also preferred the empire for the aesthetic and when TIE Fighter came out... favourite game ever. But never before have I quite liked a faction as much as I like the first order right now. I like Old school Warhammer/40K CHAOS Less than these guys, and I am likely going to get a chaos star tattoo in the next month or three.

omg ... the Naboo fighters and the prequels stuff ...

FFG has already broke the purity seal of the OT + EU ... after the introduction of the First Order and the Resistance it doesn't really matter if there will be Republic and Separatists in the mix of time as well ...

That really isn't what this thread is about. This is about N1s flying and fighting in the games extended time frame.

To be fair Star Wars Rebels mixes in prequel era stuff whenever it gets the opportunity. I've no problem with it myself. Old decrepit junk space ships fit into star wars very well. Naboo being a war torn landscape... I am really ok with this. Not just because of my hate on for Naboo, not that at all. I just like that the peaceful planet has after all it's been through been torn apart. That the cost of freedom and the legacy of it's history has utterly devastated it.

The Naboo havn't developed any further since the prequels? ... Well as long as they don't jump back in time and this is all space junk ships ... I think im fine as well. Firesprays are prequel ships as well. So ...

If it follows these comics, it could only be a Rebellion ship.

I'm all for more ships (including prequel ships) but I'm not really interested in two more factions (definitely not just after adding one and two sub-factions). If ships they would have used have fallen under the use of the existing factions? Then bring it on.

I'd want to further this by saying: I'd love to see some TCW/prequel worlds as utter graveyards, literally like what we've seen of jakku X infinity. Dead worlds with dead skies and the ruins of both civilization and sieging/occupying/defending forces.

Imperial Governer Septimus forbids any advancement or expenditure on military vessels, afterall Naboo is protected by the Empire...

That took me less than 3 seconds to cook up and justify.

Even the Falcon is a super-old ship in Star Wars canon. Hound's Tooth as well.

The reason they don't have any newer fighters, according to the issue is that

Palpatine demilitarized Naboo, and the few fighters they had were moved to be kept secret.

Palpatine is a good and wise man.

Well the Star Wars universe is fairly technologically stagnant, and Naboo being a peaceful planet probably doesn't put too big of a priority on their military.

Hound's Tooth and Z-95s are also prequel ships.

I don't see the problem with the N1. Heck, even in the EU they were sometimes flown by the Rebellion during this era. Now they're also flown in a canon source in this era, they're beautiful ships, and the Rebels are in DESPERATE need of small-base ships in future expansions.

But I guess people just like to scream "NNNNOOOOOO THE PREQUELS SUCK AND **** LITERALLY EVERYTHING IN THEM!!!!>!>>!!!".

Yup, Phantom Menace is a stinker of a film. Doesn't change the fact that the N1 is a beautiful ship and there's absolutely zero reason to not hand it over to the Rebel Alliance in X-Wing (while there's a few reasons they should give it to them).

Both the Tooth and Z-95 were EU designs that made it into TCW, though, but your point about N1s still stands.

Sadly, the N1 will come with two Elite upgrades: "Spinning is a good trick!" And "Yippee!"

While i think it may be possible, and wouldn't be opposed to it, i don't see the N1 as being too likely. There is a dearth of new pilots for existing ships that can be done, as well as a new ships from the new movie.

As for those new pilots:

Norra Wexly (and droid R5-G4) from the Novel Aftermath - she flew the y-wing we see in the second death star run.

Shara Bey green squad A-wing pilot, possibly Poe's mom. Could give us a green paint scheme a-wing

There is a new fighter design similar to a b-wing that was spoiled by Lego.

We still have the black and orange paint scheme t-70, the updated Millenium Falcon with square dish and new title that adds an illicit modification slot (and slam drive illicit modification, as well as yt-1300 scum dial)

Heck, maybe a prototype B-wing with a red paint scheme.

Yes, most of these are repaints of existing ships, but with the right abilities and upgrades they will feel like new. Plus as someone who refuses to buy duplicates and not good at repainting, I welcome all reissues. New movies gives us new ships. There will br more than weve seen so far, rest assured.

If we are going to get any ships from the comics I want Aphra's ship.

And Sana Solo's ship too actually.

Green squadrons A-Wings were red as far as I remember.

New rebel Y-Wings would be wonderfull. They really need at least one pilot with an Elite upgrade slot. Maybe Rebel Aces 2 with an X-Wing + fix stuff (maybe old core pilots + upgrades to phase it out, would be an opportunity if FFG wants to do that) with a Y-Wing with new pilots for that. Add new astromechs in addition to those from the old core, maybe some torpedoes that are actually usable by X-Wings, the Y-Wing upgrades from Most Wanted, a new bomb/old mines, some variant of turret and you have a sweet expansion.
