Twin Laser Turret + BTL

By chopan, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi everyone!

I have a question, if my Y-Wing Syndicate Thug is equipped with the BTL Title and a TLT, can it perform attackas outside the firing arc?

I read in the rules that when 2 cards are in conflict, the "winning" card is the one that forbids, not the one that allows.

Thanks!

Yeah, the title forbids it, no matter what turret you equip.

You do, however, get to attack 3 times in your situation. Primary weapon, then the two attacks from the TLT.

But all three attacks inside my firing arc due to the title, right?

Correct

And not at range 1 due to TLT only being ranges 2-3.

To be honest, TLT is the one turret that is probably best without the BTL title. With it fixed forward, you're only going to get a shot or two at the start as you joust before your opponent gets behind you. And with the turret locked forwards, you'll have trouble shaking them off given the Y-Wing's dial...

Unhinged astromech could really help here, it adds an awful lot of green to the Y dial.

Agreed. I've seen Unhinged Astromech used with some TLT Y-Wings to great effect at my FLGS. But they were run without the BTL title to maximise the Astromech's ability and keep themselves at Range 2-3 of their target.

Yeah I often run two TLT Ys along with Bossk with unhinged astromechs.

I run an all BTL-A4 list two with TLT and two with ion. Three shots in your arc is a brutal attack. Pop R3-A2 on one and now you can double stress out to range 3. brutal and I highly recommend it.

Prefer a B with flechettes and tactician and a rookie toting my R3-A2 :)

BTL Ys with R2s are utterly amazing ships though. Durable, fly well, and pack a punch with control rolled in.

Sorry for the zombie thread, but with the new FAQ does BTL + TLT still give 3 attacks?
