Antenna broke off my VSD

By TheRealStarkiller, in Star Wars: Armada

So it happened to one of my VSD. The antenna broke off.

I guess this problem is not uncommon.

I glued it back on with super glue - but it keeps to break off when I transport it in my case.

Its just a minor issue in fact. But it feels like a scratch in your new car.

It grind my gears.

Does anyone found a solution how to fix the antenna in a way that it don't break off that easily?

Obviously, super glue isn't sufficient...

Send in a request to FFG with a picture of the damage.

They replaced two of my VSD models for exactly this reason.

Epoxy glue. Leaves the antenna stronger than the rest of the model ☺

Remove it clean off and then drill a hole where it was, replace it with brass rod or paperclip trimmed down. Paint to match.

I just removed them, and keep them safe in a box. It's not like they're all that critical to the game's aesthetic to begin with.

Same thing happened to one of mine, and on another they just fell off and got lost. I emailed FFG a couple of days ago, waiting for a response.

Wow ... to me that sounds like ... "yes, I removed my auricles and keep them save in a fridge, just to make sure that nothing can happen to them ... "

I took them off as soon as I got the models, because I don't particularly like the way they look. What sort of ship would have such a HUGE antenna?

The VSD?

Yep...mine broke off one on the way to Massing at Sullust. Couldn't face fielding a broken ship, lucky I was flying VGG and had a spare.

I replaced mine with brass rod. I heard bad rumours.

When FFG replaced them, did you get an entire new pack with the ship, cards and everything?

You would only get the ship

One of mine broke off. Don't care enough to bother replacing. Seems pointless when it will likely just happen again and it's completely unnecessary.

Plastic glue. Actually melts the parts back together making it just as sturdy (if not more so) than it was before. The antenna on one of my vics was broken during shipping. Gave it a bit of the glue and have not had a problem since.

I have 3 vsds, one broke off accidentally and i just removed it from the other two. Took a black permanent marker and touched up the white spot from the break. They all look great, can't even tell.

I just drilled a hole and inserted brass rod.

The top antenna broke on mine at the Massing at Sullust tournament. I used the "oh well" solution, and used a black marker to paint it like it had been blown off during the fighting. Works for me.

I've got 4 VSDs and only one of them is still in tact. These things just break if the wind blows strong enough. I keep my one pristine VSD on a shelf now and refuse to use it anymore.

Normally i'd care about my miniature condition but for some reason i think it actually looks better without it.

Mine broke off, but just the tip on one. The other I'm taking great pains to keep it whole.

Antennas don't concern me, Admiral!

Rusty bayonet, Liebgott. You wanna kill Rebels?

What did he say? I've got nothing but static since he took off the antenna.

I just love the VSDs.

I mean... This model is the reason why I picked this game up the first place.

Love the VDSs even over the ISDs.

Partly because they represent kind of an outdated technology (for example the oversized antenna) and background-wise to be replaced by the better ISDs in all aspects but the price -

So they are struggling against the ISDs in a fight they cannot win over the long term.

To me its kinda reliable and trusty VSDs that can pack a punch and deal tremendous damage, if used correct vs. the shiny, fast and deathly, huge new ISDs.

Don't get me wrong, I too love the ISDs.

I just wanted to say that this antenna to me is an important part of the VSDs character.

- double post due to issues with connectivity -

... better get this antenna up soon ...

I only have 1 VSD left, out of three, that still has the antenna, things just break off way too easily.
