Does anyone know if there is a listing of what crystals create what color of lightsaber? Does a lightsaber get its color from the crystal? The crystals in the core F&D rulebook are on pages 196 to 199, but unless I missed it I don't see what determines a lightsaber's color in the system. I'm expecting my players to have different tastes and want different colors. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Semper Fi.
Lightsaber Colors
Player taste. The side bar talks about Kyber crystals coming in many forms and colors.
Thanks! I see it mentioned in the sidebar on page 196. So, for example, a Dantari crystal, Ilum crystal, etc. can be of any color and/or multiple colors then? Sounds like a group can all have Dantari crystals, but everyone has a different lightsaber color.
Edited by SemperSargeHonestly who would want it any other way?
it doesn't explain why there are so many Blues and greens versus other colors.. but seems to be the way they went.
I liked the Idea of it defining the Jedi's outlook... But I guess Disney dropped that.
Big thread about this in the F&D subforum. Lots of useful information there.
I think there are many different Versions. In KotoR they had different Colors depending on the 3 different Jedi classes: Guardians blue, Sentinels yellow, Mysics green.
In my Opinion it would ad some flavour, if all the crystals came in a certain color rangs.
e.g. Illum cristals are in green and blue tones.

Link to that thread or is it at the top of that forums main lists?
As far as canon goes, all the blue and green 'sabers we see in the prequels are due to the Jedi using crystals from the Ilum system, which typically produce blue and green colored blades. The red blades were a result of the Sith using artificial crystals (at least in Legends; not sure if that's made it over to the new canon or not). It used to be that the crystal in Luke's new ligthsaber for RotJ was also synthetic, but I believe that's still in Legends as well.
But yeah, for your game, the PCs can have pretty much whatever color lightsaber blade they want. The old Adegan crystals pretty much came in every color of the rainbow as far as Legends was concerned, and the Jedi from Luke's New Jedi Order had a variety of colors for their 'sabers as well since they had to rely on a variety of non-standard sources for their lightsaber crystals.
Didn't that get a retcon/canonwipe so now all crystals come largely clear, and its the process of being prepped for a saber that causes the color?

Just checked the Canon version of the Wookieepedia article, and it says that while the crystals themselves were clear (at least the Ilum ones), they still tended to produce blue or green blades. Though it does add that other colors were known to appear in rare instances.
That might just be the Ilum crystals though, as the Lothal crystal that Ezra obtained in "Path of the Jedi" was distinctly blue.
