Let's talk about the G-1a

But it can also be used to turtle more-or-less indefinitely, which is a major balance problem. A Starviper with a Cloaking Device that can't fail is an excellent points fortress.

...especially one which can pass off uncancelled hits to cheap, nearby fodder.

cloaking device on Xizor is hilariously excessive

he doesn't need any defensive upgrades to be a tank, and removing his ability to attack is just serving the rest of your squad to your opponent on a silver platter

That's a good point. I was looking at it from the perspective of trying to win games by removing all of an opponents ships in which case I think losing the ability to attack is enough of a balancing factor to justify keeping the points low.

Well, we're all about the hilarious here. How about this one?

Prince Xizor - Veteran Instincts, Autothrusters

Guri - Lone Wolf, Virago, Advanced Sensors, Cloaking Device, Autothrusters

Black Sun Solider x 2

Xizor flies in formation with his mooks and trades fire with whatever's in front of him. Guri is the solo hyperflanker, using the Cloaking Device to protect her for the opening exchange and outmanuever her opponent as swiftly as possible.

I hope its dial stinks. I want to get by with only buying one of them... I already have four Bwings.

Really?

Comic Sans? Have you no shame?

I use that font when I am being in my most joking and sarcastic posts, and I'm like totally being serious about this man, :P I also use this emote in my sarcastic posts.

Ahem, a moment back on topic.

Let's assume for the moment that the basic ship for the G-1A is a PS3, no ept, pilot for 23 points.

We know the ship comes with [Focus, Target Lock, Evade] and [sensors, Crew, Illicit]. Mist Hunter has been spoiled; no matter what the cannon does it's basically 1pt for a barrel roll; not bad at all. I'm assuming a B-wing dial, perhaps marginally better, but not by much.

The question: What generics can we throw together with this suite?

25pt Tactician or FCS ships will do fairly well as a mild PS-bidding B-wing. The Tactician example is notable, because you're getting PS3 instead of PS2 for the same cost as the B-wing with modification; this suggests that they'll be pretty capable scum control ships (even before we count the tractor beam!).

27pts lets you have both; this is as viable as the 27pt B-wing equivalent - not bad, but frequently too expensive for a ship that can't escape hostile attention. If you could pair it with something even scarier, it might work, but Scum isn't much for high-threat glass cannons at the moment. HLC Sckys might do it, but that's an awful way to do it. :P

What system would you combine with K7 Droids? I'm sure there's something neat possible here - but I feel like I'm missing it.

If the dial has a lot of red, the outlaw tech seems worthwhile, moreso than other options.

... Ooh. Outlaw Tech + FCS for 27 points could be pretty dang shooty.

Greedo could be fun, too, though I don't like that shield:hull ratio for it.

Any thoughts on Feedback Array on this ship? It'll likely get more uses than a Z. But I think the swarm aspect is what makes it work with the Zs.

What other Illicits are good? I think Hot Shot Blaster isn't a bad gig for Zuckuss. He's likely to get outflanked, but then he ould hit those flankers with 4 attack dice.

I wonder if Dead Man's Switch will work with generics. They may be too slow to stay at range 1, but on the other hand, your opponent won't like having to eat through all that hull and shielding just to get blasted when he finally takes you out.

I mostly keep wishing that Dead Man's Switch was 1pt.

Sure, all other automatic damage bombs are 2pts+, but c'mon, you just had a ship explode to use it...

With a crew, system, and ilicit slot... this guy could be a contender! Knowing the 3 bank is red, it's looking like this guy is going to be slow. So long as it has 1 straight and banks I'll be fine.

I'm guessing there is a title that lets it take a cannon.

I have the feeling that it will have 5 forward and gonna be fast but hard to turn. Jousting styled ship with unpredictability from stealth device and barrel roll if played as Misthunter. Maybe it could have some special k- or s-turns perhaps..

In the case of say Talonbane taking a range 3 shot, I would prefer 4 dice with a focus to 6 dice without every time.

Really? Every time? What if you have 1 HP left and Bossk just rolled HHHC on a modified HLC shot? (There's always an exception. Except when there isn't.)

So except when there's an exception

Which is an exception

So there's always an exception

Which makes it the norm

So there are no exceptions

Except for the exceptional cases

I hope it's a little faster Bwing. I'd be ok with that dial.

That it comes with crew is great. Hopefully this has that magic PS scale that makes it a good mid PS ship and not just a fodder/Ace only ship.

Any takers on how this pairs with Dengar?

we don't know enough about either the pilot or crew variant of dengar to say anything

Hmm yeah not a lot of info on him so that's understandable. Zuckuss and Denny were pretty good bounty hunter buddies apparently so I want to run that when its all on the shelf.

Wasn't Dengar kind of every bounty hunter's buddy? If you needed backup, Dengar was a solid guy that could be trusted to carry out his end of the deal and not double cross you.

I don't even understand what the point your trying to make is. At all. It has no relation to my previous post.

Well in old canon anyways ( I almost said core just then...) Dengar and Boba also had some adventures.

Dengar is just all around a really nice guy. He's like X-Wings version on Kharne the Betrayer! Just a swell dude. Doesn't like swoop racing much anymore though for some reason...

He also has a Cockney accent according to Clone Wars.

I know I shouldn't, but I have high hopes for this ship. I hope the second generic gets the EPT slot like they have been doing lately. Juke could be fun on this ship.

You can see the edge of an upgrade icon on the PS5 generic that's not there for the PS3 generic, so I'm pretty sure it gets an EPT. That also fits with the Black Sun Ace and TPV -- both Scum generics at PS5 that get an EPT.

My question is about the points costs. If Zuckuss isn't paying a premium for his ability, that would put the PS3 Mist Hunter at 24 points. That's a rough comparison to a 22-point B-Wing, so I'm hoping the generics come in at least a point below that.

I'll just slip in the the thought that if this ship comes with the awesome reposition ability that is cloaking, it may be one more reason why the dial will be limited.

Also, I love the idea of putting this on a HWK.

This would only make sense if they somehow went back in time and changed every other ship with an illicit slot to a limited dial, since they can take this upgrade as well...
