Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

TIE Advanced: · Lieutenant Colzet (23)

Advanced Sensors (0)

Trying it out this Thursday at my local store...

You know, I would try it with Vessery and crackshot instead of Brath, and advanced targetting Computer on Colzet since you'll be target locking most of the time. Snipe with Vessery with a F+Tl HLC, then flip one card at the end of the round. I love the synergy there. I might steal it.

EDIT: Hmm... Maybe Sensor Jammer instead on Colzet, since he'll TL most of the time, he'll need all the help he can have for defense.

That's not a bad idea I'll have to try both...Just wanted to turn as many cards up as I could

Sensor jammer is awesome on colzet when you don't need him to do damage

Which is never. All of your ships need to be doing damage. That's what kept the TIE Advanced from being played for so long.

I would say go with the Advanced Computer on Colzet and accept the slight hit to defence for the turn you put up the TL. After all, if the opponent is shooting Colzet, he's not shooting Rex/Vess, which is a good thing.

I would...move to Accuracy Corrector on Colzet!

2 Auto Hits, even when you take a TL action that you can save for after is a no brainer.

I'd probably also drop to Vessery, he seems to actually work sometimes, unlike Brath.

It depends. In the case of that build, Colzet is there more as a support: to give the TL to Vessery and to change a damage card into a crit.

Since you get rid of the TL when using his ability, you might TL most often than not, which leaves you token less to defend. Sensor Jammer might help you by turning a hit into a focus, but it can also make Vessery more deadly by ''forcing'' your opponent to spend his focus token for offense. If they go for Vessery first, Colzet ability also work for the card for the Zeta damage too, so both scenario is a win, the longer Colzet is in the fight, the closer we are to the moment your opponent will have no more shield so you can trigger his ability; the longer Vessery is in the fight, the more damage he will be able to deal.

And the big problem I have with ATC is that Colzet is only PS3. It means the ship you decide to TL might dodge your line of sight so you have no shot on him. So in the end, I prefer Sensor Jammer if you feel defensive or, like phild0 proposed, Accuracy Corrector if you feel offensive. I consider both equally good and a better choice than ATC, depending on your playing style.

If the Dice fall right I should be dealing hull damage by turn 2 or 3...Defender if my leader Tie ...F/O on both sides Colzet point left or right...just fly hard and fast laying down fire...Focus with Defendef Tl with Colzet...let the tie F/O fire before Colzet...all about over kill

Nine to Ten red dice....need I say More

Nine to Ten red dice....need I say More

Well, 1 ship firing at 4 dice with F+TL is very nice, but 3 other firing with 2 is pretty average these days. And that's a team that is highly dependant on green dice. Quite frankly, an arc dodger or a fat turret flew well have good odds against it (my 3 Interceptors list would love this match-up). Never forget that with low PS ships, you need to read your opponent perfectly.

So, I consider this team fun to fly, one that I will definetly try in a casual game, but I would not go to a big tournament with it.

I'd give Fire Control System to Colzet. Let the Defender lay on the damage that the rest just lather extra on after, with Colzet making it count on whomever he shot that turn,

I'll let you know how this list plays out...I'm bringing it to my local store on Thursday...

I flew a very similar list to good effect. It was a lot of fun and I did very well. I used Vessery w/ VI as my Defender as I liked the TL's from the FO's. One game I played with Maarek Stele and VI and ATC, but I really missed EU on him. It was an odd game, though. I played Colzet in the next and it was just OK. I missed having the high PS of Maarek.

I also went with two Epsilon with Weapons Guidance. It was great b/c I could use Focus (after I did the TL) for WG. If I needed it for defense, I used it. If not, then it made their attacks much better. People kept saying the Epsilons were pinging off half the damage in the list.

I really liked the S-loop for the Tie Fighters as everyone would tend to expect the white K-turn with the Defender.

I think it's a great list and you should have some fun with it. Different variations all change depending on who you are flying against.

Grabbed my quotes from another thread:

Col Vessery w/ VI

Maarek Stele w/ ATC, Mk II engine, and VI

2 x Epsilon Pilots (Tie FO) w/ Weapons Guidance tech

Haven't flown the Defender in a few months and always loved it. Haven't flown Maarek Stele since Wave 1! I seriously tried to make him work before. I never flew the FO's before. Man, their dial has so much green on it! I found the S-loops great for low PS pilots. I also loved the tech as it meant I could use my Focus for defense, but if not, I new who to shoot at (whoever used their tokens) and I could dish out reliable damage every time. It was a great matchup with Vessery, too.

I also got to play against Xizor, which was great as I am usually the one flying him. Man, he had Sensor Jammer and was hard to kill (my dice didn't help). I also flew against the YV-666 for the first time.

I will admit that my dice were just not doing well. I had 5 green dice at one point and rolled all blanks (not even a eyeball). I did it again and got a single Evade. It was just crazy bad. In my 2nd game, my luck continued while my opponent's was above average. At one point he grabbed my dice and rolled them. It was like Mario Cart and passing the thundercloud to someone else. My dice started to roll a little above average! I was able to claw my way back in that game. I took out Miranda, but lost Vessery and all my shields on my Adv. I didn't take another hit all game after that and hunted down his HLC Outrider that was untouched. It took forever and so much back and forth. It was an epically fun game.
