Familiar and threat tokens

By DarthButchbrune, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Sorry, if this has been asked before :

Threat tokens "Each time a hero is defeated during an encounter, instead of drawing 1 Overlord card, the overlord may gain 1 threat token."

If the overlord defeat a familiar, such as the Reanimate, that is treated as figures, can he draw an Overlord card or a Threat token?

Thanks.

nope, only heroes.

Familiars are treated as heroes only for the purpose of attacks, monsters abilities and OL cards, and that's all

yes you're right, heroes abilities and class cards too

Thanks all, but now, I'm a sad Overlord!

Don't forget hero abilities too, but otherwise yes- not threat tokens, not plot cards, not quest rules, not travel cards.

What about Allies? They are treated as hero figures for many purposes. Does the overlord get a threat/card when he or she KOs and ally? This came up recently, and it seemed ambiguous.

No. Allies have similar "pseudo-hero" status as familiars.
