I know its a lot to expect considering how many people don't even have the figures yet, but I am curious if anyone has finished up painting one of these guys. I am interested how they turn out with some color!

i picked up a set of hired guns and wookie warriors yesterday. i hope to have them painted by next week, but this weekend i have another massing at sullust tournament to attend so i might start them on sunday if i have some time

That Rodian looks really nice.

I have painted them both up but have yet to tackle the skin.

Being a citadel paints user, I have applied a couple of thin coats of Caliban Green with a Biel-Tan shade as a starting point. that's it so far.

I plan on lifting up to Warpstone green with a couple of pops of Moot green at the end.

Has anyone else out there got any suggestions on a Rodian skin?

I might make a variation on Sorastro's lighter tone of trandoshan skin, because when I was painting my Trandos I thought he lighter tone was too green for bossk and opted to do the dark and my own mix, but now the rodians lend themselves to the lighter look. Going to paint my guy's tunic's purple though.

Rodians can be a variety of other colors, too. I was thinking of doing one in blue or purple scales/skin with khaki clothing.

As an aside has anyone noticed the distinctly different facial sculpt from the miniature and the article for them?

I tried to paint one of these guys like the artwork and the other more brightly coloured.

Rodians seem to dress in bright colours in most of the lore.

I have some metallics and buckles to finish then I need to get on with the skin tone.

I like the idea of two different tones.

I did not notice the different sculpt to be honest.

Colour pallette if any one is interested:

Tunic: XV88 base, sepia wash, layered up to Tau Sept Ocre / Naggaroth Night, druchii wash, layered up through Xereus Purple to Genestealer Purple.

Armour Pads: Stegadon scale green up to temple guard blue through Sotek Green. / Screamer Pink up to pink horror. Agrax Earthshade Wash.

Straps: Mix of Celestra Grey & Standard Mechnicus Grey. Nuln wash, layered with administratum grey. / Rakarth Flesh, sepia wash, pallid wyche flesh layers.

Boots: Dryad Bark & Gorthor Brown mix with 3 x wash of agrax earthshade.

Fatigues: Rakarth Flesh, agrax earthshade wash. Layered up to palid wyche flesh.

Weapon: Sorastro's Mechanicus and Abaddon Black mix. Drybrush with Necron Compound. 2 x nuln oil shades.

Pouches: Mornfang Brown with agrax earthshade wash and Skrag Brown highlights. / Sorastro's Grey, nuln wash and eshin layers to dawnstone highlights.

Skin: ??? / ???

Nice use of bright colors on them, it really makes them pop.

I just love Rodians- always have. You should see my Rodian character's sad attempts to pick up Twi-Leks in the RPG...

I went with just a basic earthtone for my outfits.

They are fantastic DekoPuma.

I finished my Rodians last night. I ended up using 10 transitions of colour for the skin. Caliban Green / Warpstone Glow / Moot Green. Ill drop some 'Ardcoat onto the eyes tonight after they get a matt varnish shower.

Very happy with them. I took more time with the skin than i usually do and it was worth it. Patience. They look better at arms length where the some of the brushstrokes are less obvious.

I may have to buy another pack of these as I really enjoyed painting them.

These are my Hired Guns. I think they turned out pretty well.

They're gorgeous - you've really brought out the detail and complexity of the miniature.

Hopefully one day I'll learn how to put my pic of my Hired Gun here...

I just painted my HGs from the cards/package but they look reasonable.
