Help with my first list please

Hey all,

I'm trying to build my first list here. 300 points.

I own a core set and all of wave x1

I want to build a list with two VSDs and some squadrons. I know it may be better to have a VSD and a GSD or something, but I want to keep to one ship to keep things simple for now.

My general idea is that I want screed in a VSDII - with Dominator, to act as a really powerful brawler that sits in the middle of the board and dishes out damage, escorted by Rhymer, a 2nd Bomber squadron and two TIEs. The 2nd VSD will tag along, bringing with it Howlrunner and 2 TIEs.

My initial list is:

VSDII

- Screed

- Dominator

- Extended Hangar Bay

- Weapons Liaison

VSDI

- Defense Liaison

- Flight Controllers

- Assault Concussion Missiles

Squadrons

- Rhymer

- TIE Bomber

- TIE Fighter

- TIE Fighter

- Howlrunner

- TIE Fighter

- TIE Fighter

How does this look, and the general strategy of the list? Also objectives...?

I would grab some TIE advanced to escort your bombers and occupy enemy fighters.

Also i always say run a Demolisher with Screed. It's such a great ship with his ability and the move and shoot but you will have to lose a VSD to do it so if your heart is set on two won't be able to.

I play a very similar list though i have interceptors with howlrunner and a few less upgrades to turn the second victory into a II. A two Victory list with a few fighters and bombers plays well. You can dish out damage quickly and i found having the bombers hanging around to clean up heavily wounded ships works really well.

As for objectives;

I usually at least grab advanced gunnery and minefeilds. Think i take the ambush one too.

Ive come to find that flight controller isnt really as good as it sounds. For those six points you could upgrade your basic tie into an interceptor and one of your advances into howlrunner or some other combination. That way you get the same effect plus some without needing to activate them for around the same points.

Howlrunner makes tie interceptors vicious as you get the extra attack die for regular attacks and counter attacks too. Not to mention the swarm effect reroll.

Looks great! You did accidentally put motti on both, probably a typo
