It's a nice Vader promo, but this is the third pilot card repeat promo in a row (Gen Con Luke, Worlds Han, and now Winter Kit Vader). Hopefully we can expect something new next year.

They're clearly sticking with characters central to the trilogy since Disney's taken over (whether that's planned or not, it's been pretty clear) with regard to uniques and they've changed the art from movie stills, so I'd guess they're covering their bases. Four for four on well know movie characters if you include store championships 3PO (though this at least isn't a remake). I'd expect the trend to continue with Chewie, Lando, etc...and with characters from the new movies and rebels in the future (though, at least those won't be remakes). I'll be pleasantly surprised if they do anymore EU pilots that have been released.

I think my issue with it is that they were all relatively recent. They're still nice promos, especially this Vader one, but this is basically two years in a row of those three promos showing up.

That's fair, I just wonder if they have as much freedom as they did previously. I'm glad they got Soontir in there when they did!

I predicted that Vader would come after the whole "lets do the same card but a cartoon version of it" thing from FFG. Now we wait for Chewie, Biggs, and wedge cards to come. I am happy to get a Vader card as a imp player but I feel for the scum players out there. Only one Alt card and wondering "where is my Guri card?"

I think the point is that the Rebels got enough love with the original cards, since a lot of them have a distinctly Rebel slant. Recon Specialist and Intelligence Agent come to mind.

Can't decide if I want the tokens or the alt art Vader more. Both are awesome, but I'll probably get more use out of Vader (FLGS breaks the seasonal kits up so that everyone can get a prize).

Would allow you to run Howlrunner without buying the tie expansion so they may never do her. I would like to run a swarm but haven't got round to picking up the tie expansion so haven't done one yet, if they released her as a tourney prize I'm not sure I ever would.

Same issue as with Soontir Fel there. lots of people only have Imperial Aces, since it is a pretty good value expansion if you want to stick to the Empire. The promo card didn't help them.

There is even a C3PO cards rumored to be part of the next store championship kit! The Tantive is a bit bigger than a TIE Fighter, and they are willing to give away the biggest draw of that!
