How much for a GR-75?

By Durham Jedi, in Game Masters

I don't have the Edge of Empire rulebook. It's expensive to get right now.

How much is a GR-75?

I've posted this here as I might sell a GR-75. It's been abandoned on a planet for a few years, possibly a decade. So feel free to suggest a price for a second hand abandoned GR-75. I'd like to get a good idea of it's value.

Thanks!

I went there and didn't see the price. Clicked on the GR-75 and saw there was no price. Never occurred to me to actually look along the list page itself.

So

I'm assuming 180,000 for good condition. Even if not fresh out of the shipyard.

Perhaps I'll start at 90,000 creds and have a negotiation

Each success = 1% increase

Each failure = 1% decrease

Each advantage = 5% increase

Each threat = 5% decrease

Each triumph = 10% increase

Each despair = 10% decrease

It's your table, but, unless there are plot-specific reasons for reducing the cost, there's a solid reason why the ship prices are what they are.

If you start chopping off significant percentages of the ship price, I'd suggest chopping off significant percentages of things like Hull Threshold (which can be repaired to spec), weapons, shields, etc.

Ships are supposed to be very important to EotE parties, and being able to buy them for half price (without a significant allocation of XP) could be unbalancing.

Also, per Negotiation, each additional success/failure is supposed to be +/-5% according to the rules. Adv/Tr aren't listed as having an effect upon the price, but relate to bonuses added into the sale.

It is being sold not bought

It has sat abandoned on a planet for about a decade

During that time it is home to a character and his R2. The R2 Astromech does maintain it, but it is largely unused and made into a home by the character. I'm playing Age of Rebellion and, though I'll probably just repair the GR-75 and have it launch, I'd like to keep selling as an option. Even if kept, it might cost 90,000 to get it fully functioning and fit for purpose.

Ah, sorry. Missed that last part.

"Stolen" goods start at 25% of base value, with an additional 25% for each success on a negotiation check up to 75%, then 5% additional for successes beyond that (before talents). Assuming good condition.

If the good start out "damaged", then modify the base value by the damage and recalculate. At least that's the way I've been doing it.

And, unless the party finds the BOSS pad for that ship (unlikely), it's considered "stolen".

It'd be an adventure in itself to legalize it, then it could potentially be used openly or sold for more....

Ah

Now that looks more like it.

If I wanted to be technical, I'd say it is abandoned. But stolen is a fair description.

My initial thoughts are that the crew were killed by the Empire for smuggling for a few left over Separatists. Only the R2 survived, but continued to care for the ship. When my character turned up, the two became friends and he's made himself at home.

So

If the transport was ever to be repaired and take off, or be sold, the Empire would react quite violently. Stolen, in this instance, is likely how the Empire would view it. And such a questionable past history wouldn't sit well with many buyers.

It'd have to be classified as "salvage". Which would mean that they'd need a valid license to salvage. Specific ship permit, specific salvage permit, specific location permit, etc. The Empire is quite picky about paperwork. Consider it similar to an auto title.

Possession of a vehicle without a valid title (salvage or original) is a crime. Transport of said vehicle across state (planetary) lines is a crime.

How violent the Empire is likely to get depends on your portrayal of them. It could range anywhere from confiscation of the vehicle in question and a warning all the way up to summary execution.
