Nice! Looks like the heroes are Okaluk and Rakash, Truthseer Kel (renamed Seer Kel for some reason..), Laughin Buldar, and.. Arvel Worldwalker.. I think. And we've got Nagas, Ferrox and Blood Apes for monsters.

Looks like neither Kel nor the Ferrox were changed much. Kel was already a great mage, so this makes sense for her. Army of Death is truly devastating in her hands :P

The Ferrox got a slight buff to their mostly useless Leech ability.. I could see it being used to harm Rune Plate packing mages, but the Pierce already helps with that. Stamina leeching can deny actions.. but runemasters can still use Runic Knowledge without it, so Ferrox will go boom anyway.

Their low Health and poor defense dice makes health recovery unlikely to be helpful. Nonetheless they do hit hard and have decent numbers, so I have been known to use them when trait selection is restricted. Glad we're getting new minis and sweet artwork for them!

I was hoping for some of the more exotic heroes like Varikas or Steelhorns but these are still nice. Looking forward to seeing what buffs they give Laughin. He was a very poor warrior in the CK version. Okaluk and Rakash could use a buff too. 3 stamina on a healer is pretty brutal.

Are you sure that's Buldar and not Nanok? Those horns (and belt/lack of chest armor) remind me more of the latter. In any case, the pack looks really cool. I'm excited to see what's happened to Blood Apes.

Reprinting Nanok would make me happy as he will almost certainly get a smack with the nerf bat by FFG, something he really could use to be allowed back at my table :P

Agreed. That looks like Nanok to me. Also think that looks a little more like Tatianna than Arvel Worldwalker; the feathers on her clothing look a bit more "tribal" to me, more in fitting with Tatianna. I like the fact they don't say though...making us all second guess!

Yeah- I agree that looks the most like Tatianna. Actually, it looks a bit like the old artwork of Tetherys , but she's been released already.

Yeah, I immediately thought Tetherys and then was like.. Oh wait.. She's out already!

You can actually see the artwork for the scout on the side of the box, but it's fuzzy and low res. Doesnt tell us much but I felt the colour scheme and exotic clothing suggested Arvel more.. But then I saw what looks like tribal paint on her legs.. Hmm.

She doesn't really look like Tatianna or Arvel to be honest.. But nothing else fits.. Unless it's a new hero? First Crow Hags and now new heroes? Could it be?

..

Prolly not :P

After all the 'is descent dying?" stuff, seems that descent has the undying ability ;)

Guess I´ll have to re think about money for the next year...

I would say Nanok too, Okaluk and Rakash, and not sure for the last one, even if Tatiania or Arvel is the best choice

But since there was a new monster in the last anounced box, could it be possible that there's new heroes too ?

I wouldn't be surprises if blood apes are now on 2x2 base instead of 1x2

Maybe you missed the point:

Anyway, I hope she is Arvel. I'm using her on this campaign, and I love her. Hope they don't ruin her.

What is the purpose of "Place 1 of the cards on the bottom of the deck and shuffle..."? Why not just "Shuffle 1 of the cards back into the deck and place the remaining...". The sentence structure isn't very good as is anyways.

I'm not sure if Arvel is good the way she is now.

And I think it will be more Tatiana.

I saw that too, let's hope the final version will be ok, they did this before already, with prewiev and final product with minor changes

Similiar to Mok who learns ths OL's current hand and discards 1, Kel learns the OL's NEXT 4 cards, and gets to bury one as well.

So glad Nagas are finally back, though I'm not too thrilled with their design (they do look cool but I prefer nagas to have more human-like faces). Truthseer Kel has such a fantastic design, reminds me of Peekablue from She-Ra.

To me it doesn't sound like the deck gets shuffled. One gets selected to go to the bottom, the other 4 stay on top but in a random order.

Ah that makes sense. It may actually be grammatically correct but it just sounds weird and could lead to misunderstandings.

Actually wonder if it is Red Scorpion, rather than Arvel or Tatianna. In D1e, Red Scorpion had 1 attribute die in all 3 categories (melee, range, and mage). The picture shows the individual with both a blade and a quiver of arrows. It implies someone who can be both melee and range. The art work also looks somewhat like the original conversion kit of Red Scorpion.

Just a thought ...

So the only monsters remaining to convert from the Conversion Kit are the ice wyrms and shades. There are quite a few heroes left though.

Don't you think that combo Seer Kel + Army of Death is gamebreaking? Too powerful!!!

Kel and army of death is very strong, but is it strong enough that it should be the entire reason for your hero/class choice? With a one-trick strategy like that, it isn't too difficult to generate a counter.

This looks like it will be an exciting pack.

The Necromancer is not so strong in the first place

The Necromancer is not so strong in the first place

Indeed. It seems really powerful early in Act I, but it doesn't scale all that well. It is really easy to kill the Reanimate in a single blow, and that is essentially removing an action from the Necromancer each time that happens. That hurts alot in a game where the action economy is everything.

Army of Death *can* make up for that, but in order to really shine it needs to be coupled with Vampiric Blood. That is quite late in the game, and by then you will have Act II monsters. Those with decent defense dice can often endure the attack. You also can use corners and doors to protect monsters even from Kel's Army of Death.

I get far more flustered by heroes with absurd Pierce values, because then most of my monsters' defenses are turned into tissue paper and they drop like flies (looking at you, Crossbow Treasure Hunter, and Bearded Axe Nanok!)

Speaking of which, on my wishlist for a change to Nanok would be that he can only get a free surge on one attack per turn. That I think would go a ways towards balancing him out.

So.... do we know who the heroes are, in the end? Even if it seemed clear for some, we were just guessing, right?

So.... do we know who the heroes are, in the end? Even if it seemed clear for some, we were just guessing, right?

As far as I know they have never published an official list of heroes yet for this collection. Seer Kel is the only 100% confirmed hero. All else is educated guesses based on the images released.

I don't think there's a chance of the heroes being anyone else than what had been originally guessed. Tatianna is the only one that could be up in the air.

Soooo on the boat? Is this like a row boat from Australia? Maybe we could fed ex this thing?......
