Obstacles and Advanced Sensors

By Nuke0504, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I had an E-Wing with advanced sensors and I put myself on a rock. I was wandering if I could use advanced sensors to barrel roll off the rock the next turn. Thank you

Yes you can, unless you've moved there after performing an ion 1-straight maneuver. Which means you had no dial, so you don't get to use your Advanced Sensors.

Otherwise, that's usually the best way to get off a rock. Bear in mind that if the template for the barrel roll still crosses part of the rock, you can't roll. You must have a clear side to roll with.

Yes you can, provided you do have a dial to reveal, and are not stressed.

FAQ 322 (actions and game effects):
Advanced Sensors
If a ship equipped with Advanced Sensors does not have a maneuver dial assigned to it (for example, because it is ionized), it cannot use Advanced Sensors’ ability.

Q: Can a ship that is overlapping an asteroid perform free
actions?
A: Yes.
(*Funnily enough, it was like so since the beginning, and in the FAQ 32 they have changed it to "No", just to bring it back now.)
Also keep in mind that now the effects of all obstacles (you or the template overlap) are in effect; e.g. your template overlaps a debris field, and your base the asteroid. You would then get a stress, skip the perform action step. roll for a crit, roll for a hit/crit, and not be able to attack.
Q: After a ship moves through or overlaps more than one obstacle, does the ship suffer the effect of each obstacle?
A: Yes. The ship suffers the effects of each obstacle, starting with the obstacle closest to its starting position and proceeding outward.
