I idolize Vader in every way... his dark clothing... red lightsaber... funky voice modulator... I even tracked down his barber!

We don't see Luke, or do we? Near the end of Han's voice over we see a crouching, hooded figure reach out to R2 with a mechanical hand...

I really do hope they don't do to Kylo what they did to Maul, although evidence points to that being the case. Although this is only a trailer, so it could be lying. Although I wonder if he'll make a heel-face turn... And is that guy Kylo's torturing Poe? I can't tell.

I hope that lightsaber duel is just a complete mess. One Vader wannabe and one complete novice just swinging at each other with all the finesse of children with sticks. That would be glorious. I like the arena they chose for it though, very stylish: at night in a snowy forest; the red/blue glow will be very cool. This will be one the kids will be replicating in their backyards for years.

Could be that the trilogy will follow the progression of the two characters, Kylo Ren and Finn, along their respective paths through the three movies. Perhaps they meet her only for it to be a draw and then meet again in the third movie for a final confrontation having gained more experience. Finn could end up studying under Luke while Kylo finds a mentor in Benicio (not knowing what his character is going to be). Rey could be a connection between them (maybe Kylo and Rey are siblings as posited by one theory I've heard).

Knowing the themes of twins and clones often pop up in Star Wars, I'm leaning toward Kylo and Rey being twins.

I'm hoping they both survive the battle myself. I liked Darth Maul as a new bad guy and he didn't last long. Kylo Ren is seeming to be a very deep, new bad guy. I'm hoping he makes it to Ep. 8 at least.

But, if one of them has to die, I would prefer Finn survives. He's probably my new favorite character. I've always been a Stormtrooper fan with the problem of, well, they're the bad guys. Here's a Stormtrooper that turns good so I'm not all dirty liking him.

From how they've talked about Kylo I don't see the Maul parallels. He seems like a full fledged character, something Maul never really was in TPM, of course, we have so little to go on it's all wild speculation. Still, while JJ likes to borrow stuff, borrowing Mauls demise would be a bad choice, borrowing a more Vaderesque character arc would be better... I hope.

Considering Abrams is drawing more from the OT than the PT, it is possible that he'll last longer. Hux will probably die, and who knows what they'll do with Phasma. A second saber-wielding bad guy would mean you can have a final duel between Finn and Luke and Kylo and Del Toro's character. I bet they'll save Snoke for last, as with the Emperor. Or not. Red herrings, and all.

I really do hope they don't do to Kylo what they did to Maul, although evidence points to that being the case.

3D has never worked for me, apart from a single movie — Avatar.

If I was definitely going to do 3D anyway, and I had a choice, I would do IMAX 3D over anything else. Failing that, Real3D.
