Aren't there already a million general Star Wars forums to talk about the film?
Seriously, this forum is supposed to be about the game, the one set in the original movies.
Can't we have one thread for film stuff, so people who don't care - or maybe who don't want spoilers - don't have to see it?
I wouldn't mind if it's people posting their stats for the film ships/characters etc or other game related stuff, OR if FFG decide to release a game based on it, but otherwise aren't there other places to talk about generic SW stuff?

And the game does not just encompass the OT Time Frame.
While the books make suggestions on time setting, Edge can be used in ANY time frame, from Old Republic, right up to New Republic.
Age is abit more specific, but nothing stopping you using it to cover Clone Wars
And FaD doesnt really fit the OT anyway, so would be more New Order/Republic or at the height of the Jedi Order.
Every post that might be about new films is usually clearly labeled, so if you dont want to read about them.. just dont click on those topics.
Personally, this is the only SW Community I have any regular dealings with, partly because its not full of the ranting about Disney/Canon that you get on other forums and facebook.

The title of the thread was not misleading. So, you didn't "have to see it". You used your own free will and looked in here. If you are seriously complaining at simply having to scroll past a movie-titled thread once in a long while when you are browsing for game threads, well I can't help you there.
I wonder if a thread pops up from time to time in Star Wars movie forums announcing game news related to the movie and it really bothers someone?

I'm not one to normally be excited for a Monday ........ but .......
Soooo... monday: Ep. VII trailer drops.
Tuesday: I play AoR RPG with the kids at work, GTA V gets a free lowrider dlc, SW:TOR starts the early access of Knights of the Fallen Empire.
Wednesday: The school has mid-term talks, so I'm gonna spend the day showing movies to the junior club.

At :08 you can clearly see an alien at the Alliance base. NOT just a bunch of humans running around.
BB-8's "voice". Makes me thinks they are trying to make BB-8 a "droid child".
Foreshadowing of things to come? Or perhaps an ironic moment since the X-wing pilot (forget his name) was the one who shot down Finn?

I loved the look of all the starfighter combat. Looks sooooo exciting. Oh also the lightsabre battle at the end ....looks to be epic.

- Rey is on a desert world, sees a ship (00:28) and looks whimsically at it as it blasts away to the heavens. She's a Skywalker?
- A glimpse of the Knights of Ren at 1:23. Also, 00:43 is Kylo Ren using the dark side to form another recruit?
- During Han's voice over, he says, "The Jedi", as the camera zooms in on Finn.
- No mechanical device on either of Chewie's arms at 1:47.
- A female voice over at the start (Leia?) seems to be speaking to Rey. Later at 1:46 we hear the same female voice say, "The Force, it's calling to you".......then at 2:01 with speakers turned up, "...just let it in". Does this imply Rey has the Force?
- Both Rey and Finn will become force users?
- Epic starfighter battle OVER LAND, not just out in space again!!
- 1:54 bad ass heavy blaster pistol. Made me think of Kyle Katarn's blaster.
- 1:59, Finn seems to flinch, looks scared, when Kylo Ren comes at him. Awesome.
- Finn must have the Force, how else could he survive (?) a lightsaber battle against a presumably skilled dark force user?
- Good acting meets Star Wars!!!
- Dark, dramatic, Shakespearean, I love it. If the movie is truly represented by this trailer then the Empire Strikes Back may become number 2 on my list.

Well, that's what we're led to believe anyway, we don't know what she's looking at. We don't know if she's a Skywalker, but there's some speculation on that, obviously.
At 1:03ish Kylo is torturing Poe I think - probably trying to get info on Luke or the Resistance or something. Just before that there's the funky scene were we are led to believe that Kylo is speaking to a dead man 
I'm not sure the female voice is Leia, but it could be. Sounds a bit different to me (not Carrie-rough), but then, acting + post-proding...

Good acting? Does it matter? I guess it's about time! Also: good directing perhaps? These two will ideally compliment and feed into each other.
I'm not sure I'd bump 5 down, but then, this will have newness about it for a while. I have to admit it's been a while since I've scene the old films (OT and PT) - like about a year if not more, I started having longer and longer breaks when I fell asleep watching Attack of the Clones and A New Hope... but it must be done again soon, very soon. Before December 16th (yeah, we get ep 7 before you guys ).
What I liked in the trailer was the following: it seems crap just started to hit the fan with the Empire. While I've read Aftermath (which is mostly just a teaser) and just started the long trek through Lost Stars, it seems there's no Jedi revival movement after RotJ. People have forgotten, the Jedi have become a myth and legend, more so than when the Empire treated them as such. While 20 years is a bit short to reduce something to complete legend status (ignoring for a moment the argument on how many jedi in relation to the size of the galaxy - which could support that) another 30 years would reify and make it true, so to speak. Particularly since Luke, for some reason or another, didn't start training or establish the Jedi order again. Probably busy being hunted down by Inquisitors and later Vader fanboys
This has some implications about how I'm going to run my future games I think, perhaps even my current one... I just wish I had even more info on the Dark Side, the Inquisitors, the nature of the Force and all the crazy. I have plans dammit! Inform them FFG!

Loved the Holo-Astrogation console between them while they're talking on the Falcon.
Hyperspace effect was great.
"I was raised to do one thing." Return of the clones? One clone realizes he's Force sensitive and his world goes upside down? Indoctrination camps? Very Empire/First Order regardless,, and I feel sessions beginning to take shape.
I guess it's Phasma's shuttle/ship? Regardless, looks great.
Lightsaber fight, always good, makes me wonder though if Ren and Finn aren't just wannabes at that point. They've cast Benecio del Torro as a baddie apparently in the next film, so I wonder if Ren doesn't go the way of Darth Maul in the first movie?
Desert chases, the Falcon running and gunning, pirate palaces on forest planets, I'm in.
