Warrant of Trade PDF?

By txMaddog, in Rogue Trader

Does anyone know where I can get a Warrant of Trade I can print out?? Would be nice to be able to hand it to my players once we start.

That's not a bad idea. at the moment im contimplating writing it out (copying my CE one) and reading it out to my players

I'm just going to type it up and print it out with a parchment-style background and some kind of Imperial symbol as the "stamp".

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a CE. :( Can someone post what it says? Thanks!

If iits not infringement then yes that would be good ^^

I can type it up for you if you like, but it was actually read out on a pod cast by one of the developers being interviewed a while back, though I'm very sorry I don't have a link to it :(

Nice, well in that case I don't think they will mind too much.

As mentioned above, the developer did read it out on a review that is available from... somewhere or other, so it's not as if I'm copying anything here that can't be gotten hold of in a legal fashion.

Imagine it all in "hand written" Font with the only part that's actually hand-written (not font) being the name of the Rogue Trader:

WARRANT OF TRADE (Centralised and in Capitals)

Resolved henceforth in the name of the Most Beneficient God-Emperor of Mankind, the High Lords of Terra grant this Warrant of Trade to:

(Insert Name here in big letters)

And to all of his line, from now until the end of time.

The Bearer of this Warrant of Trade is granted the inalienable right to go forth beyond the sacred borders of the blessed Imperium, to contact such benighted civilisations as he may encounter, and to make war for the glory of the Emperor as he deems necessary. By the authority of the Senatorum Imperialis, this Warrant places the Bearer as a peer to the great powers of the Imperium, inter alia: Imperial Commanders, Chapter Masters of the Adeptus Astartes, and the masters of the Holy Orders of the Emperor's Inquisition.

The authority this Warrant grants begins where the Imperium ends. Beyond the extent of Imperial rule, the bearer of this Warrant speaks with the voice of the Emperor Himself.

It is the bearer's right and his responsibility to claim whatever worlds, resources, or privaleges he may obtain in any manner he chooses.

By writ of Seal of Holy Terra

Hope this helps!

Sorry but there's a couple of spelling mistakeas in there. I've had a few gins tonight and my typing isn't what it could be (thought it's better than it normally is! :P )

Just run it through a spell checker and all will be well (as long as your spell checker checks English!)

Thats ok, thanks for the writeup :)

Mind you, this would be for a modern Warrant of Trade. In the fluff, sometimes they say differing things based on the age of the warrant.

Thanks!

I think that was the D6 Generation podcast, don't remember the episode.

great work aramis, thanks! can't wait to print it on some parchment-style paper ;)

Although I couldn't make a writable PDF so far, I already designed an MS Word version. This one is for Sarvus Trask gui%C3%B1o.gif :

Warrant of Trade

The font is hardly readable, but it looks good.

Great! but how on earth did you get the old parchment look on word? Ive beem trying but I can only get a parchment background...

I googled for a pic which fit my purpose. Then i put it behind the text and adjusted its size to fit the page. That's it.

Well now that I have the text I will (once I get back to my trusty mac) make a writable PDF, I think I have the actual parchment graphic that was used for it (its a stock graphic) and the seal was on the webpage, the font I have somewhere as well so that means that I can actually recreate this document down to and including a real wax seal if I wanted to... Hell I think I might just make piece of paper that looks like parchment, then print the warrant on it and seal it, tadaa. Just as good.

Say Terelo... where did you gett that background image? (the silver compass thing)

Its similar to the one on the RTCE cover but it looks different.

The symbol is from one of the wallpapers FFG provided in the RT Support section. Remove the background, change it to grayscale and increase the brightness, then it will look like that.

I am thinking of making this available as a writable PDF, so you can fill in the name you'd like, but first I have to read through some legal stuff on all the different pics I used.

Just curious what the status of this might be? Would love to be able to have a pdf of the WoT to use in our campaigns. I hope that FFG gives permission to use a pdf like this in our own games.

Keeps fingers crossed...

Good luck looking into that Terelo. I'm sure if the image was from downloadable wallpapers, it can be used, as long as we all agree by using it that all copyrights and trademarks are the property of their prospective owners.

Can't wait for your writeable pdf!

Status on this? I'm starting a RT game and would love this to get my players excited.

Would it be possible to get a copy of the word document (either uploaded or via e-mail?)
Also, where are people getting these Imperial Stamps and nice backgrounds? Can't seem to find them myself (my google-fu is weak, it seems)
