lego spoiler of a new ship?

By shotbyscott, in X-Wing

While I like it, it looks bland. If it's real I would probably get it because I like "practical," but that is a really bland set.

As I see it, the blandness is mostly due to the fact that be lots of surprises inside.

I have that problem with a lot of the lego ships. They just don't come off as cool as you'd expect. I'm often tempted to pick up a lego B-wing, but then I see all that grey...

That's why you buy imperial ships like the defender.

There is a lego Tie Defender?!?!?!?!

Yup. For some reason it has a spinning cockpit. It's pretty cool though, I modified mine so that it didn't spin anymore. I don't remember if it used blue or grey bricks though.

That actually does not look as hulky as the xwing version. the xwing version you gotta admit looks like a death monster with 6 tentacles

Mmmmmm cool

Not as fancy as the huge B-wing but that thing is in a league of its own

So far, I'm feeling very meh about the new ships.

The new X-Wing is cool - although LEGO managed to muck it up - but the TIE is boring (although I've always been more of a fan of the Interceptor... and the Bomber... and the Advanced... and the Avenger than the Fighter).

The Imperial landing ships are boring. The snow speeder is boring. Kylo's shuttle is boring (it's actually the most interesting to me aside from the T-70).

As sad as it is to say, I think I'm going to be liking the ships from the prequels better than the ships from at least this sequel: Looking at the LEGO sets, Obi-Wan's red star fighter looks better to me than... pretty much anything to come from TFA.

Although it does seem strange that there's only one (so far) ship for 2016 from TFA. I suppose LEGO might be saving sets and production space for Rogue One.

The LEGO I'm most excited for for 2016, from the leaked images, is the Mustang in American racing livery.

there is a mon calamari and what might be mon mothma.

*cough* from the "behind the scenes" promo reel...

Her Highness is not impressed.

thanks for the feed back..... looks like the bomber to be but that's just my guess

Last year, there were rumors making the rounds of concept art for TFA. This looks like it could be for one of those pieces which was being called a "J-Wing" starfighter. The rumors had an astromech behind the cockpit area, but otherwise, this looks kind of similar to the description.

Is this it?

Jwing.jpg?fit=1050%2C9999

This actually matches the description that I read about a spoiler site in most regards, and better than the lego. So I might be wildly off base. OTOH, the written description I read was a bit fuzzy on the orientation of that curved piece, so I wouldn't rule it our entirely. But cool nonetheless!

If I was going to make a "J-Wing", I like to think I wouldn't make quite an asymmetrical monstrosity.

I think I would make the titular "J" be a large fin coming out of the top or bottom like a shark's fin.

I think this is an older ship from the "red squadron" movie materials

this is doing the rounds .... could it be a spoiler?

Seeing things like this makes me really, really, really worried. This thing is..... Ya, I'm just gonna say I'm not a fan.

At all.

You know what set is amazing and avoids the gray? That Clone Wars Y-wing that comes with Ahsoka, Anakin, and R2.

Anyone making snap judgements needs to remember, it's one picture of a LEGO ship in a resting position instead of a flight position. If you look at the LEGO version of Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle, it's much blander than the movie version because its wings don't fold out and the hull is a lot more blocky. And even if the nu-B-Wing is screen-accurate, it probably has wings that fold out or something like that to make it look more exciting while it's flying; you can see what look like hinges on the model and the original B-Wing had fold-out wings.

I do wish we could see some more original-looking ships like Kylo Ren's ship; everything else seems to be a minor upgrade of an OT Ship.

What's up with the minifigs stepping on the radar dishes?! You kids need to get off my hats! I wonder if that's gonna be a trend for future sets.

The radar dishes are there so the mini figures can be posed for photos; they will be photoshopped out in the final product pictures.

Possible Leia pilot? She did pilot an X-Wing in the Marvel comics.

Edited by WingedSpider

I wouldn't mind seeing her in that X-wing Aces pack that's due (though I'd prefer a Y).

Hmmm… here’s hoping, but if I was a betting man, I’d say theres a “loading ramp” that drops down from the front for passengers/cargo to board and that the top is hinged by Legocorp to allow access to the interior for “play”

Sooooo much this! There are plenty of rumoured [insert letter]-Wings set to appear in minor roles, but who knows?

I suspect they’re going to stick to riffing on very familiar designs for the first movie, playing it “safe” and branch out in subsequent ones (hopefully!)

And a Y-Wing in Splinter of the Minds Eye…

I suspect her and Ackbar are being escorted by the pilots in this case though… (would be happy to be wrong!)

I prefer her in a slave outfit myself... :P

And this is why she needs to be a pilot instead of an almost never used crew card... and why she needs to never have an alt-art version of said crew card.

If it's referencing her in TFA though, she'd be a T-70 pilot.

My first thought

I think it looks badass. It would be even more badass if those are actually doors/coverings for missiles galore towards the center of the ship.
