Unofficial petition for ALL figures to have ally/villain packs

By flightmaster101, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

Dear FFG,

As an IA skirmish player I recognize that some squads are inherently better than others. As a company that developed the model for LCGs, I would expect that you agree with me in that people shouldn't have to spend ~$400 USD to run the best squad in the game at events. Therefore I'm politely asking that as soon as practicle you begin releasing every IA non-unique group, in the same way you've released the Stormtroopers villian pack, for sale to the skirmish (and campaign) playing public.

Thank you,

Flightmaster101, loyal FFG customer

Anyone who agrees with thus please comment below. Let's show FFG we want this and are willing to vote with our wallets!

Not until they fix the current issues in the game and make spam list less attractive...

I disagree... I don't want any more stormtroopers but bought them anyway for the campaign stuff (most of the skirmish stuff was a repeat and/or wasn't very good). I don't want any more e-webs, officers, probe droids, heavy stormtroopers and more. And, I'd hate to have to buy them just to get a few cards and campaign stuff when there is already plenty of good campaign stuff out there.

You need to make friends with a Skirmish player that is just throwing all that campaign crap away. Those campaign cards are almost like land or tokens in Magic.

I think all of the campaign stuff should come in boxed sets so that you're only buying Ally/Villain packs for the models and deployment cards. Skirmish players can buy their units without needing to buy everything else.

I would be MUCH happier if FFG would just package both an elite and regular deployment card for each figure you have. The starter would contain 3 elite stormtrooper deployment cards (which I know is silly in the wrong direction but I'd rather it be consistent), 3 regular stormtrooper deployment cards, 2 elite royal guards, 2 regular royal guards, etc. There's 3 stormtrooper figures, give everyone the option of running the regular or elite. Since there is no "regular" luke, he (like all other named figures) would only get the elite deployment card.

Someone had a good idea to make all deployment cards double sided, that has merit for skirmish but you need to keep things secret for campaign. I'd be alright with this anyway as we could use card sleeves to cover the wrong side!

I'll just chime in with a "Heck Yeah!" I want more Trandoshans.

I'd be pretty happy with at least a card pack that included one elite card and two regular deployment cards. That would at least make it go a lot easier to release quickly and it would go a long way towards making royal guards, officers, elite stormtroopers, trandoshans, etc. People can still sell their extra figures, ffg doesn't have to invest tons of capital into running full packs of figures that they have no idea how many will sell, and cards are much cheaper to print. Not a perfect fix - since everyone wants specific stuff made available. But better than buying more than two core sets. Especially when two core sets doesn't even fix the problem.

I think it's completely reasonable to ask for ONE more regular card of whatever is included in the box. Ie, in Twin Shadows there are 4 Elite Stormtroopers (2 Deployment groups)...and so there should be 2 regular cards, rather than 1. Nobody will be able to convince me that the added cost of a card or three cards in a box will crush the game's profit margins. Perhaps have single copies of the cards in the reinforcements packs, but I think it makes sense that the boxes should have more regular deployment cards.

I enjoy both Campaign and Skirmish, so, I like the idea of including 1x Regular and 1x Elite card for every figure group in a campaign box (i.e. 2x Reg & 2x Elite Royal Guard cards in the Core box).

The other ideas of breaking everything into more ally packs seem hit and miss with me. Sure, I would like to be able to get more Royal Gaurds without buying more full core sets, but I'd also hate to have to re-buy lots of allies packs just to get a few cards that weren't included in the base game packages. As it is, I'm pretty disappointed at the new Stormtrooper Villain pack: new sculpts are nice but since they're using the same base deployment cards there's not that much new gameplay options.

I'm fine with all suggestions listed above as they are all better than what we currently have. My preference would be for all future boxes to come with elite and regular cards for each deployment group.
