We have a nice group in Buffalo with Xwing and Armada. Canada has been a hotbed for xwing, but I have not seen any Armada player groups there, And I can't believe not 1 store in the Ontario area had a Sullust event. Buffalo had 3! We are planning to have a tourney in Nov. here in Buffalo and would love our friends from the great white north to cross the ditch and join us. We are also will ing to travel there for tourneys.
Where are all the Canadians?
We actually had a tourney in Kingston, 8 man turn out and my first time playing Armada. Unfortuantely, thats a bit far from Buffalo, but Armada is alive and kicking north of the border. As long as we can sneak past the polar bears that is
I was just going to post the same thing!I was present at the Sullust event at the Nexus as well. It was a good time!
Feel free to message me jack, I'm trying to organize the armada scene in Kingston through a facebook group. I can let you know how to find me.

Does this group have a name? Like, Armada Kingston?
"Star Wars Armada Kingston" in fact, i suppose to not be confused with the other Armadas

We've got it going on in the West, between Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary ![]()
Warlord Vykes the verminous, one of the scourges of the north west.
Aye, I know what you mean though. Finding a presence is tough for Armada in Canada, at least it has been in Edmonton and northern Alberta. I don't see it played at the local game store, but there was apparently not just one, or two, but three bloody Sullust events in Edmonton! I knew of 1; it was the only one that was internet searchable and it was only posted 2 days ahead of the event. I didn't find out about the second until the day of, and the last I heard about today (and if they were better advertised and spoken about, I could have been at all three. Not to win [would have been cool] but because it actively expands the number of clubs I know of that run things, and lets me meet new people. Besides, running events and campaigns in big groups is fun.).
The Armada clubs, groups and player networks here are weak. There, I said it, we're bad at the 'get outside of facebook zone' thing. So, unless you're on facebook and have a friend of a friend that knows a guy owning a shop, finding a place to play Armada is challenging. I'd love for that to change. Given that my friends play Magic and I'm an old WFB/40K vet, finding games hasn't been hard, and setting up local groups among friends isn't hard, but actually finding other gamer cells can be an exercise in futility.
On a related note, should we have some ISB 'report the suspicious gathers' thing where we can at least keep tabs of where decent new folk can congregate*? Sure the 'this is a local Armada Facebook group' is all well and good, but that doesn't tell techno-Luddites like myself anything because its virtual footprint is tiny and secretive. But if I know 'Gravedigger's Feet Games' up in Alert has a 'bring your own chair and space heater' Armada night, then I at least know that!
*Apparently, and this is for any lurker that's in the region, Avalon Knights runs Tuesday X-wing and Armada night. And if I knew that, I'd have been there months ago.
yeah here in Vancouver BC we have a fairly large group of armada players here.. there's about 70 of us in the facebook group so there's some good interest and i think around 10-20 of us that play regularly in the metro area over different days of the week
so the west is definitely alive and kicking.. if you're ever visiting we have 2 main vancouver locations on wednesday nights and thursday nights from the 2 nights that i'll show up to and i believe a few more in the surrounding outlying areas
Face Book has issues, even if everybody is on. That's why I like to put up signs at my local stores.
We have a decent group here in Barrie Ontario. Bit of a hike to Buffalo though. I also found a great group at 401 games. Facebook Star Wars Armada Ontario.
We had a Sullust event here in Truro, Nova Scotia with a few players from Halifax coming up. There is also players in Moncton where we had the first Maritimes tournament back in May. In Truro four of us have five core sets. It's slightly bigger than X-Wing here in town but overall X-wing still king.
In Canada?
In Canada?
What?! That's just crazy talk.
This time of year they are all migrating to Florida.
Good to see some more of the Kingston players on the forums!

What makes you think that there were no Sullust events in Ontario? Armada in Toronto is doing just fine. We had 5 events between Toronto and Hamilton.

I highly doubt any of us will make the trek over to Buffalo. With X-Wing, Hamilton players would bug us that we made such a big deal going "all the way to Hamilton" when they constantly drove to Toronto. Driving to Buffalo? Wow, that's way too far! Not gonna happen.
You see, we're use to having people come to us as we're Canada's biggest city. We always have more events and bigger groups because of it. Why would we go anywhere else when we have everything here? ![]()
If you'd like to drum up support for your local tourney, join the FB group Star Wars Armada Ontario,
https://www.facebook.com/groups/803949259653009/
and post an invite or create an event there. You can also set up an account on
dockingbay416.com
and make a post there, or add it to the calendar for all the players who don't use facebook. You never know, maybe some players in St. Catherines or Hamilton will hear the Siren call.
If you're coming north to visit us, we're always happy to see new players and make new friend so don't be shy.
I have kids, so yeah... I didn't even look for Armada events in Burlington / Hamilton. I wish I knew of any.

The group is set to public, it should be easy to find. Feel free to join, and let any other Kingston Armada players know about it! I know facebook isn't perfect, but I think it has its advantages. Also, feel free to message you and I'll give you my name so you can add me.
