Hi I'm new to this I only came across this looking up a question on google but this look really interesting so is this a board game or a rpg like where you just start in a setting and say like I look around and then someone reply like I start walking north is this type of rpg

RPG, but a lot more open than your post describes.

The beginner boxes (and free follow-up adventures) do a very good job of training new players for the main game (they run a bit like the tutorial level in videogames) and provide the special dice necessary to play.
