Sadly I haven't had a chance to get some public games in after this past weekend, but I was curious, how is everyone with Wave 2 equipment liking their ships and upgrades? any stories to share or any combos worth mentioning?
How are you liking Wave 2 so far?
First game will be on Tuesday.
I'm trying to figure out what configuration MC80 to go with, heavily offensive, or tank. I will have a couple of the Rebel rogues as well, but I really don't know if Han Solo is worth 26 points or not.
Edited by Daft BlazerI played against an ISD last night and that ship is a beast, I won the game but barely and my opponent screwed up with his ISD some also
I played against an ISD and got destroyed (but the guy flying it always beats me) and flew against another guy flying the raider. The raider was not too impressive but what do you expect from a corvette.
MC80 is a beast. I did get to pull off an Ackbar Slash last night against an ISD and a VSD. I melted immediately after, but it felt good.
Wave 2 has really bumped up this games options and turned whatever idea of a meta there was on its head. A complete game experience has finally been reached. Everything from here is gravy.
I am quite excited. The cards look like they can shake up the meta quite a bit. It was starting to feel a bit stale.
I am a bit disappointed that a lot of the upgrades are locked up in the really expensive expansions, though.
Well I was suprised at how many games our guys got in without losing interest with just the one wave. Shows you the game has some legs under it. Lets face it though, we knew bigger ships were gonna cost more. If they didn't have anything cool in them, many would not buy them IMO. However I do like the HTT card enough I may have to get more lol.
Edited by Wes JansonHad a 2v2, 600 pt game at our club the other night with new ships won at the tourney. Was great and epic fun - awesome trying out the new ships and upgrades.
As others have said, Armada is now a proper game, and the new options now available to us seems to have balanced the scales. There is a ton of options, combos and new builds to try out. I'm loving my shrimp but can't wait to get my hands on my own MC80.
I am loving it. Wave 2 I feel has really balanced the game out a bit.
Wave 2 is so hard to build with! So many things to do!. . . .

This sounds awesome! How long did that game last, if I could ask? Not that I'd be particularly adverse to a long game, just for planning purposes. ![]()
I'm not.
Maybe when it actually releases.
I ran a test game using the MC30. That ship is extremely powerful. I was able to smash a Glad, and took on fire from a Vic without taking a single hit of hull damage (foresight) and was able to punch it back HARD. I can only imagine the damage I'll do with 2 or 3 of these things.
Wave 2 is simply: amazing. It fixes all the arguments that people would level at the game: squadrons' percieved inneffectiveness, list diversity, objectives' relevance, etc.
I'd be impressed to see people making lists with anymore than 4 ships in them. If they did I would wager a few games against rogue-empowered squadrons will show them it's not really a great idea.
Well I may be that guy who has 5 firesprays just to show why too... 13 Tie Bombers/Y-wings has already caused a problem for those no squadron guys.
It's already out?
The info is. Some have the actual products.
It's already out?
In a fashion, yes. The Sullust prerelease stuff is, anyways.
thought it's already in the market
Nope, end of the month by the sounds of it.
I saw an mc-80 for sale on ebay for $100 and an mc-30 for $40.

Edit: Well, the MC-30 is at least. £60+ for the MC-80 is insane even by our standards...
