First game setup:
It's round 3 of the galactic cup on Wednesday night. In the round in question, I'm down to a full health black sun z-95, and a mandalorian mercenary firespray that's down to 3 hull after the shot given from my opponent's only remaining ship: a full health whisper phantom. My mando has no return shot, but my z-95 does at range 1 with a target lock. Whisper only has a focus. I roll a natural 3 hits, whisper gets evade-blank-blank-blank. Shields gone in whisper! But things still looking largely in my opponent's favor. Next round my mando's move causes whisper to bump into him after decloaking and moving. Once again my z-95 has a range 1 shot on whisper, and still has that target lock (but no focus). After spending my target lock I have 2 hits, whisper gets 2 blanks and the game is over!
Second game setup:
Playing a game tonight on vassal. It's come down to my mando merc who's down to 1 hull with a console fire crit against IG88D with 2 hull left. He has mangler cannon and advanced sensors and predator. After I move, I decide I have to risk it all and take an evade just to have a chance at winning. He gets into range 2 of me and wisely takes a focus rather than boost to get range 1. I roll for my console fire and don't get a hit, so I'm safe so far. He takes his shot and gets 3 hits/crits, and doesn't even have to spend his focus. I luck out and get 2 evades plus a third from my token so I'm still alive. I do have both predator and a target lock on IG, but with 2 hull left and a focus it will be tough to get the kill. I get lucky and get 2 hits and a crit after rerolls. He gets evade focus blank and spends the focus. Crit is of course...direct hit! I've somehow overcome 3 different ways of losing all in one round and get the win!
