You know that one turn where you end up K-Turning with all of them? There you go, now all of your TIEs ditch stress and next maneuver phase they get actions out of their full dial. Or that one TIE that ends up K-Turning and then repeatedly having to keep the stress because it's stuck doing hard turns? Swing Epsilon leader by.

This seems like a drastic buff. I'm trying it out next time I play.

I can't tell you how many times I've gone into the Squad List subforum and found 19/20 threads titled 'scum list' or 'Psycho Tycho list' or whatever other non-descript trash title that tells you little/nothing about their contents.

Hence going overboard. In the rules forum I made a longer one, it maxed out on characters haha.

He also flies with PtL interceptors well.

Let us know how the list plays out; upgrading one Academy Pilot to Winged Gundark could actually be worth it in this list.

Back to the 3 points to play with! Making an FO tie seems like an under appreciated use of those fine points. What about good old Swarm Tactics? But then you've got a spare point. Initiative bid? How about VI? But then you're short two? Initiative bid? Oh the choices!!! But seriously Goomba, I like the play. Now all I need in a TFA Core.

That brings me to my other point. Perhaps its that I don't have the cards itself but the one, the only, Squadron Builder (http://xwing-builder.co.uk/build#) says that Epsilon Leader doesn't have an EPT... So he wouldn't be able to take Draw Their Fire. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Calculation on Howl (after all she can't use her own reroll), or something along that line (Predator seems somewhat overkill on a 2d ship), leave the rest for initiative bid.

Or get Night Beast (always a good invest of 3 pt in a TIE swarm).

Although I use NB nearly everytime I play Tswarm I would probably go with the dice mod/reroll for howl here; maybe slap a tech upgrade on Epsilon for the rare cases when Howl reroll isn't doing the job or when you have to leave the area of her effect.

For a tournament list I would rather go for the Ini though.

From the topic of this, I was totally expecting you to point out that yes, he runs well with Howlrunner, but then go on to point out the glories of, eg, 3x shuttles and Epsilon Leader to let 'em fly the ultimate in ballets...

Or just run 3x Obsidians, 2x APs.

Obsidians shoot first; APs make fantastic blockers.

But really, the hilarity is on something like Epsilon Squadron + 3 Shuttles running, heck I dunno, Advanced Sensors and Tacticians, or something.

Or two shuttles and Soontir, who'll more than gladly ditch that extra stress token if he ever has to. It'll be like Yorr, but with the 'save me' coming later.

It's pretty good flying with defenders too.

All PS 6; EU on Epsilon Leader so he can hang with the squints when they boost ... and no restriction to the predictable green squint dial since you pull off all their stress each round. Two point initiative bid (or room for AT on one squint). Run a loose diamond formation that's pretty maneuverable and hits hard but can turtle up as well.

The funny thing is, epsilon leader isn't suited to run with other /fo's. They can clear stress so easily with their dial, and epsilon removes stress at the beginning of combat, so the chance for action this round has been and gone. He's best with clunky ships like the shuttle and mk.I defenders. Maybe a good match for ptl rex?

I've seen 5 Academys replaced by 4 Epsilons and work really well together with Epsilon Leader and Howlrunner. The person running the list put PTL on Howlrunner and it seemed to work well with Epsilon Leader's ability.

Could run the Alabaster Space Bison Fortress:

1x Epsilon Leader

3x shuttles w/ advanced sensors and tactical jammer

+6 points for flavor

Infinite red stop maneuvers. Need I say more?

PTL on Howl seems pretty obvious to me. Focus+Evade on 3 green dice with no stress on all non K-turn rounds should make her last a couple rounds more.

Now that's an interesting thought. Four Push The Limit Royal TIEs works nice, but you tend to fly them two-by-two. Flying a pack of three with support should give you more punch...my one concern is Epsilon Leader's action economy - if you're flying head to head, yes he has an extra shield, but only one token, whilst if you're flying arc dodger, he can boost or barrel roll but not both, and the boost-ptl-barrel roll (or vice-versa) is the TIE Interceptor's signature party piece.

On one hand EL with a bunch of PtL Interceptors seems great. On the other, they're already great at ditching stress.

I don't see Engine Upgrade as particularly helpful. Why not ditch it, and spend your remaining 6 points on Autothrusters/Targeting Computer if you're /man enough/?

I've run Captain Yorr with 3 Red PtL Royal Guard Interceptors before. You get to PtL out of white K-Turns, it's quite sweet. If I PtL and then shunt stress with Epsilon Leader that's cool and all, but 90% chance I would have been fine keeping the stress and just green 2 hard turning.

Eh, I suppose it does open up a post PtL K-turn.

What Epsilon Leader does for TIE Fighters though should help a ton. Being able to hard turn out of a K-Turn and still get your action is huge with TIEs.
