Here's what I'm thinking trying to get the most out of Redline and Cluster missiles.

Redline: FCS, cluster missiles x 2, munitions fail safe and extra munitions (50pts)

Carnor jax: PtL, Autothrusters, stealth device, title (34pts)

Leaves 16 points left over. Right now I have Night Beast with Twin ion engine.

Thoughts?

Munitions failsafe is kind of unnecessary. Its not like Redline misses (well, not very often!). Of course its only 1 pt, but I'd rather have TIE Mk2, or even perhaps a hull/shield on him in its place.

The good news is that you miscalculated: Redline as you have above only costs 40 pts, so combined with Jax, you have 26 pts left over.

That's perfect to fit in Omega Ace with push the limit for 23 points, and if you drop munitions failsafe, he can even take engine upgrade (or hull and TIE mk2 on Redline).

If you don't have a TIE/FO, you could also fit in a couple of obsidian squadrons.

So:

Redline w/ FCS, extra munis, double clusters & TIE mk 2 = 40

Carnor w/ PtL, title, autothrusters & hull = 34

2 obsidian pilots = 26

Or Omega Ace w/ PtL & engine (27) in place of the 2 obsidians (and drop TIE mk2 off Redline).

Extra munitions won't work with cluster missiles well, because you will be hitting with at least one attack. Also, redline only came to 40 points. So you have 40, not 50 points invested. 26 points free.

There's a lot of slots that can be filled with 26 or 27 points. Another interceptor, a lander, tie advance.

You definitely want a range 2-3 missle or torpedo for redline, I'm a fan of plasma for raw efficiency. Sometimes just a pair of academies or obsidians is nice for blocking /range control to round out a jousty redline list.

I also kinda like hull/shield on carnor better. My personal opinion is that soontir is the only one who can stack tokens well enough to take sd. Although i do suspect that vader decimators probably won't be a thing anymore.
