As a recent X-Wing convert, I need some help putting together a Wave 7 list. I have flown Poe and Jake as solo Aces in lists, but I was curious if it would be possible to put them together in one list. However, I am not sure how to finish off the list. Any help would be appreciated!

71/100 points- I was thinking something like Kyle with TLT and Jan, two Talas with a munition, or a Warden with TLT. Any other thoughts?

I really like Jan TLT but she could struggle to keep in range and is probably a massive bullseye for your opponent as she has a good ability but is rather squishy.

I like the idea of the Z's or a second A wing ace myself.

Sorry misread the HWK. Same argument would go for Kyle though. Especially with Poe. Toocbig a buff to ignore. Too sift a target to survive any thing resembling focus fire.

Only K I've really faced is Miranda so don't know how well a generic works out.

Also, remember that prockets on an A-wing effectively cost 5 points because of Chardaan refit.

I like the look of that list quite a bit. I wanted Prockets to help alpha a TLT early to even the odds. That and I think it would help to keep Palpatine-backed Soontir/Vader honest. Do you think Jake has enough offense without the Prockets?

Yep, because you can consistently get Jake into range 1 each turn. Just don't use PTL during the action phase - take either an evade or TL. Then Kyle gives Jake a focus at the start of combat, Jake uses his ability to do a barrel roll, and then uses PTL to boost. Jake can even bump during activation and still get his actions.

Against TLT spam, Jake doesn't need the pre-combat reposition, so you can double up focus tokens on Poe. He can spend one on the attack and keep another for defense.

I don't think you do tbh.

As my previous post he is just too obvious and soft a target to ignore. He isn't the lynchpin of your list but rather support. Almost disposable support as neither Poe or Jake are actually dependent on him. Your Poe is tough as Nails (even more so with Kyle) and Jake is so squirrelly that I would go all in on removing the HWk ASAP to reduce the main guys action economy. With any sort of focus from an opponent he is going to die.

The question isn't how to keep him alive, but how to punish your opponent for going after him which would be all about positioning so they are giving your squad good shots to be able to take him out. Use the enemy target prioritisation against him.

Green sqdr with PtL, SD/Thrusters and a missile of your choice would be my choice, but Kyle is not a bad idea either.

I ran a list with Jake, Poe and a Green one game and the result was that the A-wings were all over the place while Poe singlehandedly dominated the center of the map. That was against Xizor, a Slaver and 2 Zs.

I think kopmcginty nailed it. You haven't built a gimmicky list that falls apart if Kyle gets taken out. Both of your other ships are strong independently but become really annoying to deal with while Kyle is alive. I think he's interesting in this list because he's the ship your opponent will want to remove the most and the one that you least mind losing. I'd look at him like a slightly more expensive variation of Biggs that brings some support options.

If you are playing with the new crit deck Determination is going to be as good for Kyle as it was in the past because Determination is mostly there to protect from the crit that causes you to lose your pilot ability. VI will get you moving at the same time as Poe and will put your whole squad above Brobots in Pilot Skill.

Personally, I think I liked your original Poe and Jake builds better with the less expensive Kyle. The Proton Rockets gives Jake some real punch and I think running a leaner Kyle makes sense since he'll usually be the first thing targeted.

I think Jake should always have prockets. Whether it's a TLT Y-wing, a palpmobile shuttle, or Bossk, there's often some beasty that needs to be removed from the table quickly.

Poe and Jake are action efficient enough that I don't think they really need Kyle around.

My take on this list would be:

33: Jake w/ A-wing test pilot, VI, PtL, Prockets, Autothrusters

34: Wedge w/ PtL, BB-8, Integrated astro

33: Jan w/ TLT, Nien Numb, Wired

I swapped Poe for Wedge because to even the odds with a 3 ship list you need to hit hard and fast. Now you've got 2 action-efficient PS 9s that, with Jan's help, can through out truly obscene amounts of dice. Jan focuses in the activation phase, then a stress at the very top of the shooting phase, and has a token and Wired to carry her through 2 TLT attacks and whatever defense. Nien Nunb allows her to clear that stress and keep up with the other ships. So you can rinse and repeat.

Making room for Garvin with VI might be worth a look. He uses his focus and gives it to Poe.

I played the loaded-Kyle list against Soontir and 3 Advanced with Accuracy Correctors and it went really well. I definitely enjoyed having plenty of Focus on Kyle to buy him a couple of turns, but did really miss the Prockets, so that is a tough call. With or without the trimmings, Kyle is a huge boost (pun intended) as he opens up Poe's dial for Talon rolls or other actions and makes Jake even harder to pin down. I really like the feel of it!

I will also have to give Wedge a try, but even with BB-8, I am worried about TLTs chewing him up.

I just played against BBZ with two TLT Hwks. I did a terrible job on the initial engagement and flew Poe into a killbox, so it is hard to draw any conclusions from this game. But I did feel like I was on a clock. I am going to try the Kyle/Jan/Prockets version to help in those situations where I need to even the odds fast.

Had a rematch against this list with VI Poe, Prockets Jake, and Moldy Kyle. II flew significantly better and got a modified win by killing a B and a Z in exchange for Kyle.

However, I then got destroyed by Vader, Fel, Palpmobile mostly due to a bad approach. I think I might have the tools to beat that list, but a LOT of stars would need to align. E.g. all three ships have shots on a single ace, including Prockets. Anything short of that probably wouldn't get it done. Any suggestions on how to deploy/approach that list?

Rush the palpmobile and destroy it first. Then Vader and lastly Soontir.
