It's a million times better and more fun than cod.
It's star wars, and I enjoyed it
I'm not that picky about things being 100 % exact
Like the jet packs and orbital strikes.

Don't get me started, that's not a good analogy. Cod is a very hit and miss series. with 1, 2, world at war, Modern warfare 1-3, and blackops 1 being hit and most of the rest being miss. Instead, battlefront should be compared to battlefield...

It's why I will be pre-ordering it... That and I can play against bots with my Son.

Historically you can't afford to be with the battlefront games... They are fun, but they are still team format and balanced to taste.
I'm not exactly expecting a Star Warsized version of Mass effect to come out of this, or some other piece of true brilliance.
(EA. and Bioware, please drop TOR and get on this - you will make a killing, and everyone will love you).
But I am expecting a Starwars battlefield game.
A single player campaign would have been nice, the vs campaign mode from the first 2 games should have been in but... Eh... DLC, amirte?
To me, I expect battlefront will be good enough. 7/10.
Edited by DariusAPBSingle player campaigns are overrated. I rather have a more fleshed out multiplayer than a half-assed single player campaign. I think the last two battlefields suffered because time was spent on a single player mode. At least for me, I play through single player once and never touch it again.

Depends on the game.
Mass effect series? Amazing single player, good multi-player co-op. No multiplayer VS? I didn't shed a tear there.
The COD Games: Yeah, multiplayer is better, single player mostly naff except for the examples I stated. Depends what you buy it for. Myself I love co-op gaming way more than VS. If someone was to say "yeah, we are doing a sequel to republic commando, called Imperial commando, and it's fully co-op 4 player, each of you playing a stormtrooper commando" then i'd declare it best game of the year, easily. Fun fact: playing Aliens - colonial marines like this, in a group having fun actually makes the game good fun (and worth it). Speaking of aliens, the original AvP back from 98. Playing a group of marines on survival one life each - **** right good fun game mode.
I guess it depends on the game you are looking for.
Defend the game all you want. I have played it and feel it is only worth 19.99. Glad I could test it out without buying on a hope it would be good.
I will say there are positives. The graphics were good. The laser bolt fire looked awesome. The sound was good. Some of the combat is an improvement over other EA games.
But overall still crap in my book and taste cannot be argued.
If you feel like that that is fine. The game has issues. But don't try to shame other people for liking it.
There is two kinds of bad games: Games that are objectively bad. Ride to Hell comes to mind, as does Steam shovelware and early access junk. Those you can't enjoy, because they are unfun from ground up. Then there is the "I shouldn't enjoy this, but I do" bad games, like CoD. Those have stupid overdone mechanics that have the tendency not to be liked, but the basics are fun and you can enjoy these games. It doesn't mean you have to, but you should understand that people do. BFEA has a lot of traits of the latter category, like the dumb "duck out of fire to be magicaly healed", so you should put it there when you look at it and wonder how people can like it.
I had a hard start with BFEA. the first 5-6 games I didn't like it at all. Then I unlocked some stuff and became used to the maps and the fun I had then plus the new game modes that will be in the full game make it worth full price in my book. Ultimately that is the only thing that matters, "Is the game fun?". Not "Is the game good?", "Is the game fun?".
Even EA admits on their forum it is OP.
Going to need a source on this one, cause that sounds like your normal forum "sky is falling" type thing, not a company statement. Because as it stands the rifle is just fine.
Man I love this game so much! That being said I do have a few gripes.
Taking control of a ship - You are kinds stuck floating for awhile before you can move. Stinks because you are a sitting duck for about 2 seconds... the longest 2 seconds ever!
Taking control of an AT-ST - Sometimes it spawns me at the back of the map - even towards the end of the game. I then have to spend 4 minutes walking back to the fight. That blows. I'm certain this is probably a bug and will be fixed at some point.
The little lightning bolts - I dislike that I can start a new game with ZERO charges, and that charges carry over from game to game. If I use a ton of personal chields or Ion Shots on one game, it might mean I start the next game with none. I don't like that. I'd rather have a fixed starting amount at the start of every game.
Lag - maybe it's just my Xbox One, but I'm seriously considering jumping up in the attic and running some CAT 6 cable through my walls to hardwire the Xbox - so I don't get any more of this wireless lag. It only happens like once every 4 games... but when it does it makes the game unplayable.
Also, most games I only play once through, to many to sit on one and play it over and over. Now if it has multiplayer, I spend most of my time there, so I don't mind single player not being there or excistant, because unless the game was designed as a solo campaign it usually feels tacted on and lame (The battlefront campaigns were not exempt from this). If you like playing solo games though... Battlefront is definitely not for you.

The ion/shield charges are purchasable with credits for charges. I think it is to prevent just constant spamming but I agree as well, a lower (2-4) start count would be preferable.
You know a series of games that did solo, co-op and VS equally well?
Halo. Suck it, PS4 crowd.
Seriously. Love playing that co-op, and actually enjoy it VS. Especially on my own custom maps done on forge.

Might be your connection - a friend of mine had serious lag at the start of every match on his almost identical to mine (CPU being a very slight down- GPU a slight upgrade) gaming PC, while I was fine. The biggest difference between our machines is the internet connection - him being on some backwater cable and me being hooked up almost directly to the near universities server (so good, I could download the beta in ca. 17 minutes). Eliminating all wireless connections from your online gaming setup should seriously enhance your experience.
Good grief. They just announced the season pass... it will be $50. Not helping your cause EA.

At the menu where I could select multi-player or mission, there was a smaller tile to go to the EA beta forum. On there is a thread that an EA representative lists out all known bugs, including the statement I am reiterating. Look it up.

I am not shaming anyone. If you like it and want to pay full retail, that is your choice. Go for it.
If I hurt someone's feelings because they absolutely love it cannot understand other people may have a different view...well too bad.
I would rather read all the good and bad to know what I am getting. I see the game as fun, but overdone. I see this game as the older Star Wars Battlefronts...fun for a while, but eventually collecting dust.

One could very nearly say it's perfectly balanced. Headshots will kill. Body shots will take 90% of their health but not kill them.
It needs no changes. It is a powerup that allows one shot, after all.

WHOOOOOOOOO!
Been playing the beta like mad. A few of my opinions.
-Typical EA game. Looks brilliant but the game play leaves a ton to be desired. There is just no depth to the game. Barely any strategy etc. A great part of the original games was choosing different classes and choosing what spawn point to start in. Which leads too..
-Random spawn points? Seriously? It's 2015 ffs..
-It's battlefield with a shiny skin. There is literally no evolution of gameplay or anything outside of graphics that makes you think this is next gen.
-Space battles. Yes I know. . But saying the original games weren't about space battles is complete nonesense. Star wars is all about space battles and space battles played a big role (and fun factor) in the original games. Why is it that the newer a game is the less features it has? Another one of EA standard moves. All eye candy without the features the gamers actually love and want.
-Show me a scene in any star wars movie where Vader moves around this fast. It's ridiculous. Vader is far too fast and walkers are far too slow.
-Vehicles are power ups? Give me a fkn break. Terrible design decision. They are taking the freedom away from what add the original games so incredible. Battlefront is supposed to be a shooters sandbox where you can tackle problem as you see fit. Not hope you stumble upon a power up.
-Graphics and sound are top notch and very imersive.
-Tow cable walkers is a **** QTE?! 2015 and we are using QTE still? Once again shows this game is built for looks and nothang else.
Overall I'm completely let down. It's not a step forward in any way that matters. All looks, no personality. Design decisions are complete head scratchers. Lacking basic features that have been in shooters for 20 years. Lack of customization and freedom on how to tackle any given problem.
Is it fun? Absolutely... for a few hours at least. If you're amused easily, you will love it. If you prefer even a modest amount of depth or strategy, look elsewhere.
All in all, I pre-ordered the day it was announced and have just canceled that preorder.

Please don't use CoD as a comparison of anything worthwhile. CoD is complete garbage of game that has been the same game with a new skin for 10 years.
It's everything that is wrong with the gaming industry right now. And the consumer base that laps up drivel and calls it gourmet.
It looks cool. But, I think I will remain happy with Splatoon for my online shooter needs. Besides the fact that it is half the price.

You own a Wii u? Wow that's gonna dent your street cred, so do you and the three other people that one play against bots or what?
Splatoon actually has sold a million copies. Which is really impressive since that's about a 10% attach rate.
I wish nintendo would stop making these gimiky consoles it's that which puts of 3rd party devs, Nintendo exclusives don't justify buying their consoles for me.
From what I have observed, even with everything on par, third parties still wouldn't play with Nintendo. Microsoft and Sony are willing to pay a lot to the AAA third parties. Nintendo isn't. And true, third party cross platform games are quickly declining, since the big two are paying more and more for exclusives. I mean, Tomb Raider just became an exclusive for a year. I am just seeing AAA gaming heading for a crash sometime in the near future.
