Double MC-80 build?

Just kinda threw this together for some S&G. I almost think I would deploy them butt to butt and just begin to circle with them. You do run the risk of having one of them pounced on, but then you ignore the other and you don't want to do that.

I guess, probably the biggest question with the huge ships, do you get 2-3 of them, or just 1? (if budget is not really a problem)

Ackbar always struck me as more efficient when you have more ships; 2 MC80s may not be the best use of that point sink. I could actually see this being a Dodonna build, or potentially even a Rieekan (so you can get one last turn out of an MC80).

8 A-Wings also seems like overkill to me. You don't really care about their fighter screen because you don't have any bombers to protect, so the only thing you need them for is to tie up their bombers. You can do that with half as many A-wings and save space for a CR-90A, or swap half or all these points out for X-Wings and maybe land a few hits on a ship.

Good thoughts on the Commanders . . .

A-Wings do a good job, once they chew through a fighter screen, that one pesky black die that they role, really does add up, and they are just fast. That is why I went A-Wing heavy!

I am liking Rieekan though . . .

Oh gods why would you take Most Wanted with a 2 ship build? Plus MC80 DEMANDS Advanced Gunnery.

Dangerous Territory might be a better Navigation Objective as well. As big and fat as the MC80 is, giving them immunity to rocks may be the best thing for them.

Did you mean Gunnery Team? If you did MC80 can't have it.

If you change to Rieekan, swap some A-Wings to Unique Squadrons as he affects them as well

I'm pretty sure he means the Advanced Gunnery objective, which gets crazy because MC80s are clearly designed to not allow for Gunnery Teams so here let me have some for free. Just gets ugly.

I would agree that Ackbar doesn't strike me as a great commander for this fleet, though. I'd probably encourage you to consider Garm as it is. If you want to switch up some of the A-Wings to aces, Rieekan would do well too.
