Simple question.
If you could choose one generic imperial villain, or rebel rouge to take as a multiple in your list, which would you choose and why?

I can imagine seeing a couple of YT-1300s along with Jan Ors and a couple of some kind of bombers (X, B, Y, H6).
Or just several YT-2400s to run around unaccompanied. Got Rogue, a good chunk of hull, and decent dice against either squads or ships.
Haven't looked at the Villains as much yet.
YT-2400 for low Squadron lists (Cr-90 and/or shrimp spam)
Silly bombers for boosted comms Command Cruisers (ideal because they may be spread out to abuse grit)
Firesprays, because they're really neat
Anything with Intel seems like a solid addition. It helps keep those other fighters/bombers free to move.
Firesprays. Just a great all-round ship.
YT-2400s for Rebels for sure. The Scurgg bomber (...why is it called the Silly Bomber?) seems like a kind of heavy Y Wing but I'm unsure the 60% price increase is worth it. YT-1300s are great meat shields but so slow that I'm unsure if I would expect to see more than 1 (operating as a B Wing defender, most likely).
For Imperials, Aggressor Assault Fighters (Rogue Imperial X Wings, basically) and/or Firesprays seem most likely. The YV-666 maybe if you primarily want a CAP with a few regular fighters (I'd lean TIE Advanced for maximum meat shield) to keep enemies pinned down while the YV-666s beat on them.
Scrugg (lol) is a silly name
If only we could clone Fett or something...
Firesprays. Just a great all-round ship.
Seconded (I primarily play imperial). I could also see running two of the generic intel ships, at 12 points a pop on either side, to keep my fighters moving.

Well who else flies the generic sprays
?
I just want one Firespray to get my paint/conversion done >.>
The ones that I think are most likely are the generic YT-2400 and the Firespray, because they have rogue. You don't have to build a fleet around them, but if you throw a few in, they can act to jam enemy squadrons.
I feel like people have already hit the right notes. The generic spray for me is the most likely generic addition on the inperial side, the scrugg maybe on the rebel side, or a 1300 with Bwings
Would of been nice if the generic ship could be flown by either side.
Well, it's got to be 4 IG-2000's, surely?!
And for the love of Yoda, they're *Rogues* not Rouges, more people get this wrong than right, unless it's all a sly reference to multiple Kath Scarlett's...

I like the multiple IG-2000 idea actually, for the fluffs, but I just don't feel that taken with the abilities of the ship. I think it is a bit 'meh'. Also, sorry about the spelling.
I would choose:
Rebel: HWK290 because of intel.
Imperial: Sorry, but Jumpmaster 5,000 because of intel.
I would use any of the unique units apart from IG-88, but if I were to cherry-pick generics to use 2 of in a list, the ability to give a group of friendlies the ability to break combat is a massive advantage. At the moment, I just can't see past it.
Welp I just caved in today and preordered Wave 2
Started with a Mon cal and ISD and then loaded up 3 R&V packs because, hey, free shipping @$100
Got a list cooked up with Bossk & 3 sprays
The Reb ones are a bit harder because I'm wedded to Bs, but when I inveitably fall to the temptation of shrimp frigates I got 2 shrimp & 3 cr90s under MM ready to roll with 3 YT-2400s
Hurry up, wave 2!

For rebels, if you are wedded to B-wings, consider flying a YT-1300, 2x Bwing and Jan Ors together. It may slow, but having a 7-health escort that gets 2 brace tokens a turn plus intel will make sure the bombers get through!
This is my new default squadron for running under Gallant Haven. With ease of movement due to intel, there is no reason for it to ever leave the protective umbrella of damage reduction unless on a bombing run.
I bought an individual overpriced Han Solo and a yt2400 from eBay (couldn't wait!) I'll add these to a pack when it's released, and I may add another pack as well.
As much as I'd like to say the HwK should be used in 2's, it's a bit expensive for a redundant ship unless I'm working with 2 distinct fighter groups. I'm happy enough with one and an X-wing escort as a 'control group' for my Y-wings. 2 might be useful if I forgo that X-wing, as I'd need some redundancy, but nothing screams '2+' to me for Rebels. Yet.
I will need at least 2 Firesprays for my Imperials. It's for narrative reasons: they feel right for a pair of system patrol craft. It just so happens that they look like they'll fit my style of play.
I like a lot of other ships, I might even try multiple YT2400, or Y666's. I just can't immediately see myself working with more than 1 of them on a regular basis. But I'll absolutely try multiples of each, just so I can say I have. The silly bombers are kinda nifty looking though.
Idk, the yts nice and all but its so skewed to anti squadron (re: nigh on worthless as anti-ship) that I have no intention To replace a Bwing with one
Hopefully, Jan will just keep the Bs together on her own
The meta would have to Shift HEAVILY to squadrons before I start making room for 1300s
And if the meta shifts to long range (good ole akbar) , might just have to break out the silly bombers . their crowning advantage over Bs Is that they move 150% of distance 2 (remember, distance 2 is stubby) and can keep up with fat frigates
Grit's cool too
4 x yt1300’s would look sooooo cool on the table though ![]()
I think you mean Imperial Rogues, and Rebel Villains. You accidentally got it backwards.
And Firesprays, primarily.
I think it'd look rubbish myself. I actually really dislike how the generic freighters are made so effective. They are should be completely worthless unless heavily modified, and that then starts feeling weird itself. Large numbers of heavily modified freighters on both sides? Not to mention that the modifications to make them as effective as multiple fighters (however many a stand represents....lets keep it vague) would cost more than the fighters anyway.
I know they want them good for game purposes, but it just feels silly to me. The Rebels i at least can almost feel ok about since they did use many freighters for light combat and blockade running, but the Empire rocking up with a bunch of YV-666's or Jumpmasters....nah.
But, as always....personal opinion, and no slight on people who want lots of YT's or whatever flying around!

Well, for the same cost as a YT-1300, you can get an X-wing. Better speed, anti-squadron, with bomber (on a red dice, so that's a greater chance for bleh, but still can land crits and double-hits on ships). In short, a better all-around fighter escort than the generic YT-1300, I feel (specializes as a slower meat shield with counter 1). If I feel I need an escort, not sure there's any situation where I'd rather have the YT over the X-wing.
That said, there's not many situations when I have B-wings/bombers where I feel I need an X-wing over an A-wing, so maybe I'm not the right person to comment on this...
