Any ideas why wave 8 is still listed as "In Development"? Are they just not updating the site?
Why is Wave 8 ships still "In Development"?
Because they are not in stores or on the boat. ![]()
Be patient, it is not like they gave a release date and it is already pass that, which FFG is still having that issue. ![]()
Seriously, where is Data & Destiny? It was supposed to be here last month
.
Yes, I demand new ships, you will be mine Ghost!!!!
Because it's not at the printer yet?
There's no hard and fast timeline for when something goes to the printer.
FFG has decided they hate capitalism, cancelled the game, and retired to a small sustainable agriculture community in the southern Pacific.
New ships need extensive play testing and evaluations to make certain that these new ships and cards would not upset game balance. People often complain that a certain ship is either over-powered or under-power (you see my point). I believe these guys are being tuned before they are given the green light for full production. Also, they may need Disney and Lucas Film approvals.
Edited by jpltanisPerhaps updating the upcoming page is low priority?
Because its probably not releasing until next year.

I don't think the mouse would be very happy about that...
The secret to successful product marketing, for the long game, is to not release everything at once. Imperial Assault is coming now, then Armada, then probably more Imperial Assault, then probably X-Wing. Since they know that there's some overlap to their customer base between the game systems, it makes perfect sense (to me with my retail background) to space things out nicely. Oh yeah, and Christmas.

Then the mouse can buy them a faster boat. That would give more development time, and still get it here faster.
Because there's little real chance we'll see wave 8 before February.

X-Wing, to FFG, is a huge product. It's ther single most profitable product.
X-Wing, to Disney, is "a neat hobby." I'm not sure it even has as much consideration as the new Battlefront has.

I hate to sound so cynical but if that were actually the case they REALLY SHOULD NOT HAVE previewed all the ships and told us all that they would be arriving before Christmas!
The perpetual over-promise and under-delivering of the product release dates tends to breed a lot of negative emotions from people.
I have been a strong proponent of FFG truncating their preview schedule for this very reason because we all get hyped up for a release around Christmas, but by the time it eventually arrives in February all the initial excitement is gone.
TBH if it does arrive before Christmas I think I will just about fall out of my chair, I will be happy but I'm certainly not counting on it happening

I'd expect the Gozanti this year, but we've never gotten 3 waves in a year. I don't expect that to change.
Edited by Engine25Really expecting 3 items. Gozanti, mainly because it has been listed so long. the T70 because the mini is already done, so saving design time on the mini, so we are looking at a shorter development time. same with the Tie/FO much of the design work is completed since the mini is actually completed. Plus the T70 and Tie will be tied to the upcoming movie. The rest of Wave 8 is any bodies guess. really no pressure especially if the other 3 are out during the holiday season.

Given that it is still only October 7th, we still have time for them to get Wave 8 here before December 25th. I am thinking Q1/16 myself, but the holidays would be fine, too.
Well don't count your chickens before they hatch, alpha and beta testers are leaking info about battlefront and how it's no where near ready for the November launch.
Gonna be battlefeild 4 all over again for the first month.
save us fallout 4 your our only hope!
Going to copy my post from the other thread...
Why is there all this whining about a lack of news when we have just gotten a TON of new releases?
It could take months to try out all the brand new toys we just got, experiment with lists, find out what we enjoy flying and what works now.
Let the meta shake itself out. I'd be perfectly happy to not have any news before the new year, to say nothing of any actual releases.
Play with the toys you have. Once those start getting stale, THEN is the time for new stuff.
Because its probably not releasing until next year.

All I really really want right now is the blisters for the T70 and TIE FO. That's mostly due to core sets being a half release for those ships.
Take FFG product status updates with a grain of Halite...
These are not accurate on purpose- in case there is a delay in the process. Like the TIE Bomber-I'm sure it's not getting rowed over by 2 dudes in a life raft.
Also, since the TFA stuff is secretly being made we are not getting timely or perfect accurate updates.
Are tie bombers even scarce I can buy them in England easily enough.
I have just never seen any ships listed as in development for this long.

If I remember correctly, didn't Mickey end up peeling potatoes in Steamboat Willie.
