So I almost have exclusively played with rebels, but recently I've really been taking a liking to scum and villany ships, problem for me is that when I try building my squad, I can never come up with a squadron from my current scum list that I like.

......I know, not very impressive, but anything I can put together with this limited number of ships? Just looking for a nice competitive build, doesn't matter to me about arc dodgers, jousters, etc I'll fly anything.

Well, although you are lacking upgrade cards, you have some excellent options there.

With that stuff personally would go something along the lines of

Black sun ace khiraxz with glitterstim and lightning reflexes

Cartel spacer with heavy scyk and ion cannon

Iggy-8 with HLC, autothrusters, EPT to taste,

I dont have access to points or card lists at the moment so cant be more specific, but i think what i have listed should be around 80-90 points do has room for flavour.

Do you have Rebel ships to use as Scum? I'm thinking HWK-290, Y's, and Z-95's.

I'd either use the Scyk as a small 14 pt ship generic to be ignored and get close to cause damage, or as an Ion Cannon carrier. Be cheap and be annoying is the idea.

There have been a thread or two talking about a cheap IG-88. You can go with one that is not overly loaded with too much and still be effective.

Guri is probably your best Starviper pilot to use. Mid level PS and a great ability. Probably can work well with an IG-88.

Kihraxz can either be a cheap 20 point ship or one of the aces. The cheap 20 pt one is a great cheap threat. The ace is a good pilot.

YV-666 can hang back and fire at distance. I don't think it wants to get too mixed into it. Have other ships zip in and mix it up while this hangs back.

I'll try to see if I had the time to whip together a list that I'd like to fly. My advice is to build something you want to try and just see how it goes. What do you want to fly? Anything can work if it works for you.

IG and Starviper would probably gel well with styles. Plus even the base ships are pretty sweet. Add in some autothrusters and they're quite nice.

Kihrax and Syck have almost identical move dials so there's that. One thing is the syck is pretty squishy so I'd keep it mostly bare as was mentioned above me.

The YV is a beast. Bossk's pilot ability is great, the nastah pup upgrade card is fantastic. You basically get an elite z for half the price of a regular z in the event that they actually manage to take the yv down (which with 6 hull and 6 shield can potentially be tough).

I suggest just trying combinations out and seeing what gels. This week I'll be trying a Guri/Talonbane combo with my buddy. No idea how it'll go but it's something I haven't done yet.

Also, do the people you're playing with require you to have the cards? I usually just print out a build from yetanotherxwing squad builder and my buddies are cool with that (gives me access to the non scum cards).

Latts with the crew that gives two target locks might be a good combo with Talonbane. Get him in close then use a target lock to reduce the enemy's agi and you can potentially one shot some ships.

Bossk is potent thanks to his ability. If you don't have him as a pilot, consider him as crew. It's got some nice combos. Combine him with weapons engineer and missing an attack turns into 2 target locks which goes great with Latt's ability.

With IG I've start using the C pilot where you get a free evade after a boost. The one that allows you to fire a secondary weapon when you miss is also nice but IG's base attack is pretty sweet already.
