Are you looking for a new campaign? Are you willing to play online for a few hours a week? Are you good with having a somewhat inexperienced, yet enthusiastic GM who knows Star Wars? Don't move along.
Here's what's up:
- Players of all experience and familiarity with Star Wars (both legacy and canon) are welcome. I have been an avid consumer of Star Wars content my whole life, but I have played campaigns with people more knowledgable than me and people who have never seen the films.
- So far, I've got one player with an availability of Tuesdays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Sessions should last roughly three hours per week ... with some weeks off here and there. Hoping for a party of maybe ... 5? I don't know. No more than six should work out. We can convo about fine details more over Skype (I'm "annixoria") or email ([email protected]) if you prefer. If it works out and the ball gets rolling on a campaign and a PC drops out, latecomers to this thread are welcome to join up.
- I'll be running Roll20 through Google Hangouts in order to take advantage of the Star Wars dice roller plugin. Of course, maps will largely be referential and low quality. Unless it strikes my fancy, the campaign will be without sound effects or soundtrack. Video broadcasting is not necessary or even preferred, but audio will be essential.
- I have played one EotE campaign and one D&D5 campaign; I have GM'd one SIFRPG campaign and one EotE campaign. Basically, I'm a spring chicken. Be warned.
- I have all three core rulebooks and am familiar with each. I intend to draw inspiration from their content, my knowledge of the period, and my own imagination (as long as the lattermost isn't in conflict with established lore). The setting will be right after the destruction of the first Death Star.
- Obligation and Duty will be rolled for those PC's who have pertinent backstories, and Morality will be accounted for with all PC's. Strain, Wound Threshold, and Destiny Points will only change on account of Morality thresholds for those with a Force Rating. Story elements will affect particularly Light or Dark non-Force users as the galaxy reacts to their reputation and Force users react to their aura.
- All careers, specializations, species, etc are welcome. Rules for character creation will be pretty standard (ie: standard xp, standard credits, etc).
Some nit-picking:
- Failing a Fear check will only generate Conflict for a Force user who has been frightened by a Force-specific source ... whether a Force Ghost, Force Sensitive, Force Nexus, etc. A failed Fear check will otherwise generate Setback dice and whatnot for all PC's.
- Characters, their backstories, and their personalities should be similar to the overall tones presented in major Star Wars stories. Darth Hufflepuff and a droid designation of H1N1 aren't gonna fly. Further, PC's can have major backstories on a regional level but not one of total galactic significance. They can't be Bail Organa's love child or Palpatine's latest secret apprentice or even an exiled Hutt Lord.
