OK, we started to play out the Hide and Seek scenario from the Normandy expansion and something became rather obvious.
One of the criteria for the Germans to win is for the Americans to not get all squads off the beach. So, the German player simply focused on pinning a squad or two and ensuring that by turn three, that at least one squad was disrupted (ensuring that the squad would be unable to get off the beach).
We then noticed that the Americans need to detonate a satchel. With only two squads carrying the satchel designation, focusing firepower on those two squads would guarantee that the Americans wouldn't be able to even HAVE a satchel available IF they managed to scale the cliffs and get to the point on the map where they had to detonate the satchel.
So my question is, has anyone actually played this scenario? If so, how did you get past these two facets?
