Unmentioned Game/Hero Balance Changes

By Charmy, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hey all,

Was browsing the Descent forums today and noticed to my surprise my version of Thaiden Mistpeak is out of date with what most people seem to have! The version I have states his heroic ability as only working on an adjacent search token (a fairly weak and bad ability), but the new ones I'm seeing online state it as working on a token up to 3 spaces away (a great ability)!

I'm okay with reprintings making changes to heroes to rebalance them, but I don't like that this change isn't recorded in the official errrata FAQ, nor have I seen changes like this posted or compiled anywhere. The Descent wiki doesn't even make note of the two different versions out there.

Are there other heroes that have been significantly changed in this manner between printings? I'd appreciate the help to keep my heroes up to date.

When did you buy yours? Was of the early release ones that they sold at a convention?

But yea. it should be in a publish errata.

Ben

As far as I knew, Thaiden was changed before Manor of Ravens even hit the shelves- I wasn't aware the version with the adjacent space was ever part of a release printing- it must have changed almost immediately.

I did get the game as soon as it came out from my local store, so I guess I have a rare version.

FFG contacted me about it so hopefully I'll get a list of any other changes from them so I can bring my version up to date.

Thanks guys.

Now as you mentioned it, I have the same 'adjacent' version. Please post the answer from FFG with any other possible changes when you get it.

Currently, the only other differently printed hero thing was a misprint of lair of the wyrm where the geomancer skill quaking word affected "figures" and not "monsters." In that printing a champion skill has a different word order, but the skill is the same (inspiring presence.)
