Hi everyone!

I recently got into x wing a few months ago. I've been reading the forums for a while now and figured it'd be nice to join the community. Currently I only really play against my girl friend, finding other players where I live is a bit difficult. She isn't as good a fan as I am, but she is a good sport and wins more often than not.

Here is a list I've been tinkering with and hope to play against her some time this week:

Corran Horn

-Push the Limit

-R2-F2

-Stealth Device

Ten Numb

-Fire Control System

Blue Squadron Pilot

The idea is to have the two B wings flying in formation and doling out damge while Corran acts as a flanker. I know R2-F2 isn't really too popular, but I'm curious to see how 5 defense die play out.

If you're having trouble finding players locally, then I highly suggest Vassal for online games. It might take a few games to get the hang of the keyboard shortcuts, but with some practice your games online will be much faster than in person.

Now on to your list:

R2-F2 with SD is an interesting combo and might work. Shield Upgrade & R2D2 is more cost-effective (remember that you're paying for PTL to use R2-F2), consistent, and synergizes with PTL but it might also be a relationship breaker

Either way, Corran should take FCS since it's really what makes his pilot ability so brutal.

Ten Numb without Mangler or Calculation won't get much mileage out of his pilot ability. There's a fair chance that you might not see any crits at all in a game and 31 points is just too expensive in those cases.

Here's a list that preserves your R2-F2/SD combo but I think might gel better:

Advanced Sensors

Daggers with AS might not pump out as much firepower as FCS Blue Squadrons, but they'll be immune to action denial via blocking. Furthermore, they can knife fight and outmaneuver PS1-3 ships with impunity.

The problem with throwing 5 defense dice is that you have no dice modification with that, or with PTL you have 1 focus for modification. This takes away your ability to barrel roll or potentially boost if you equip EU (which you should look into)

Green dice suck, and they hate you, you'll notice lists built around high green dice ships pack loads of dice modification through token stacking or modifications
