Been away awhile due to life, why did they take down the painting and conversion sub forum? and how would one go about inquiring for its reinstitution?

Many Moons ago now.
When we inquired, one of us got a cryptic note that It was removed because of something "Internal".
So despite the petition going around at the time, it hasn't come back.
I'm more likely to believe it just won't be, now.
Is there a forum moderator I can talk to perhaps? or send an email to ffg?

You could try the Email.
You would not be the first to do so. I doubt there's any harm in doing so... I just figure that if it was a mistake and they were going to reinstate it, it would have been done by now...
Another part to note, is that Imperial Assault and X-Wing lost theirs at exactly the same time.
However, other Non-Star Wars games, such as Dust Tactics, retained theirs.
I wonder if it had something to do with licencing issues of official IP products getting "repainted" ala the Falcon painted in the Confederate Flag motif and the Big D just wanting to avoid such possible "bastardization" to their beloved Star Wars IP.

I got your message regarding the Star Wars Painting and Conversions sub-forums. Due to an internal concern, we have removed all of our Painting and Conversion sub-forums. As you may have noticed, the threads from those sub-forums have been moved back to the main discussion forums for the game.

Thank you for that Dras, it seems anything I would have tried has already been attempted with little avail. This is very sad indeed as I considered it a major part of my and the communities gaming experience. Has anyone made something like an index thread yet do you know?
Not that I have seen. I just try to keep the painting & conversions threads alive as long as I can. Saddly, i think many have reduced their traffic here, in favour of other less restricted sites where the P&C threads are not thrown into gen-pop.
perhaps ill have to attempt that task then. which sites are you referring too?
Some went to BGG, but not sure about anywhere else.
