Airen Cracken question

By Kodiak3d, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Probably a simple answer, but I wanted to check and make sure. Can the action granted by Cracken be an action granted by another card or does it have to be from the pilot's action bar?

Any action that ship could take.

Can be a card that the "other ship" has with an "Action:" header.
Or something from the action bar.
Just remember that even like that you cannot perform the same action twice and you cannot perform SLAM as free actions.

And if the other pilot has Push the Limit, that could trigger yet another action off the free action granted by Cracken.

Cool, that's what I thought. I just wanted to make sure before I put that into action. Thanks everyone!

The thing to look for in this case is:

Is there any limiting factor on the ability? Does it say "Action Bar only" or "Action: header card only"

It leaves it wide open for any action the other ship is capable of, and is only restricted by the normal action rules, (stress, more than once, etc). The cards that only allow certain things are carefully worded to state those limitations, as in "After you perform an attack..." or "once per round...", or "... at Range 1..."

So, is there a limitation on the ability? Yes, the timing (after the attack), and the Range. Other than that, it's ANY free action the other ship can perform legally.
