Ghost vs TLT

By Deadwolf, in X-Wing

The Shuttle is definitely an interesting dynamic. It is either an indestructible PS0 turret or a 4hp 3 atk with a possible ability.

Overall, I think it is more effective in turret mode as it can't be shot down and with FCS + Rec Spec, it will be quite effective. But I do also really like the idea of deploying it into a range 1 flanking position for the surprise 4 dice attack. The PS is a tad low to use that effectively versus aces.

Another interesting thought would be to use Biggs as the 3rd ship. You would buy Ghost time to pummel the Ywings.

Ghost is going to peel a Y-wing like a banana. If it gets into range 1 and can avoid the Y's primary it's very likely to deplete all shields and sneak a crit in. I think some of the upgrades will allow it to fire a turret (waiting to see what new turret does) in addition to its primary in the same round. All speculation, but imagining a Blaster Turret, Rec Spec, and FCS has me excited.

We already know it can fire is primary and it's turret in the same round. It says so on the Ghost/Phantom title cards. When the Phantom is docked, the Ghost may perform it's usual primary shot and then a shot with its turret weapon at the end ofthe Combat Phase.

I actually think there will be something else that allows the Ghost to fires its own turret following a primary shot, unless I'm seeing that upgrade bar wrong.

What if the Dorsal Turret's ability is to allow the ship it's on to make a second attack, using the turret, after the primary guns have fired? Probably not but one can dream, right?

remember that the ghost has a 4-green straight

I have no idea wtf dial it's coming with, but there's some advanced greenery going on there

add large base boost and Hera's ability, and it might be only your own fault if you get swiss-cheesed by TLTs :P

The Dorsal Turret looks like an attack action, so before the combat phase. Should still proc FCS, but it would obviously prevent Blaster Turret or easily taking a Rec Spec token... unless you take Experimental Interface...

It's all speculation, but FFG has stated they want the Ghost to be fully crewed by the Rebels. With that in mind, I think it will be spewing multiple attacks to offset the possibility of it being the fattest thing on the board, so fat you can run it alone? The point cost for Hera makes me think otherwise, but I would love to see it.

Given the name I suspect the dorsal turret to have some kind of limitation. Wouldn't be surprised if it only works out of arc. Could be an additional shot though.

Oh noes mah skies be fallingz

I suspect this will be the case.

If you're shot by all, you have 2 turns to do your damage. You've probably got firepower to kill one first turn, though, and by the second, you can get to Range 1 of another. At that point, you've done a lot of damage, and it gets easier and easier to dodge arcs. I think 4 dice primary and Hera's ability will matter a lot.

I've been punished before when playing quad TLT by a Hound's Tooth doing a fast maneuver and perhaps also boosting and catching a few TLT croissants. Then you're left with the option of doing 2-3-4 damage to something with 12 **** health or trying to do something else that's actually helpful.

Seeing as the thing has a green 4 straight apparently, it won't be a problem.

This is weird, but with the huge forward firepower, a circular arced dorsal weapon, and fitting in the "big small ship, small big ship (compared to capital ships)", I just got this huge USS Defiant vibe from the Ghost. It's sort of even shaped the same way. Too bad I can't pull off bald like Avery Brooks.

Basically too soon to guess we need to know it's dial and how the crew works together.

Also too bad the Ghost can't cloak or maneuver like the Defiant can.
