It is defenitely not reasonable to believe the strikes/port closibg would cause a delay this big.
Also, the fact that FFG have made no statements on this being the case suggests otherwise to me.
You must not work in logistics.

Conspiracy theory with no evidence whatsoever: The book is delayed because the staff was temporarily reassigned to work on a top secret Episode 7 product.
WotC pirates are patrolling the Pacific sniping all incoming game supply ships.

While I suspect this is a joke, that really wouldn't have an affect on things that are on the boat (ie: shipping from the printer back to the US) since that has little FFG staff involvement. Now, if it were stuck 'in development' that would be different.

You should really check my linkedin....
If the delay is waaaaayyyyy longer than a temporary, local port closure lasted than that can never be the reason.

End of februari the 'closure' ended. "Backlog could take up to 3 months to work through" we are almost 9(!) months further. And have seen products released that were shipped after the strike. So it can definitely not be attributed to it.
Edited by DanteRotterdamI think it's probably as simple as FFG deciding to time the products for thanksgiving and christmas.

3 months to work through what was currently backed up. That doesn't account for what will got backed up as they were working through what was already backed up.
I'm not trying to say there are still tons of cargo containers sitting around for months waiting to be moved. The residual effects of what happened at the end of last year and into this year are far reaching. Companies changed shipping schedules. Plus we are going into the holiday season, so I am sure inbound has been at a yearly high the last month or two.
There is a reason FFG doesn't give us solid release dates. They can't accurately predict when it will get here.
Say, when did Mission: Red Planet ship? Because that's been updated to available. Does it coincide when the Star Wars books were put on the boat? /hopefulness

I don't know when it went on the boat. An EotE CRB reprint was put on the boat towards the beginning of July and just changed to shipping this week. Other than the TIE Bomber for X-Wing being on the boat since April, the RPG books of Strongholds of Resistance and Chronicles of the Gatekeeper are the oldest products currently on the boat.
Evidence points to them being shipped to stores in the next week or two.

You are missing the other strike they had at the LA port. It is not just on groups strike we are contending with.
I went ahead and emailed customer service. We'll see if they answer.

That is not what "working through backlog" means. I means that it would be back to regular business in 3 months.
But, I'll wait for the official answer as this clearly makes no difference whether or not we can agree on it.

I wouldn't hold your breath
I don't expect any official response at all. It gets here when it gets here.
So stuff has been on the boat for 10 weeks....what the hell
Two words: Somali Pirates.
Clearly they need a much better boat:

"Hurry Star Force, there are only three hundred and fourteen days left. . . ."
Why, I remember, back in the day, we used to think 10 weeks was a long time.

Funny, that's what people at the last two GenCons have said too.

Or it was on a different ship, going to a different port... lots of reasons for things to ship and arrive out of order.
I think its more likely that the delays have something to do with the new movie. Either licensing issues with Disney or a shift in what products they are working on or an incorporating of the new movie stuff into the products.
I have learned by experience with Star Wars LCG that the upcoming page is not to be trusted as to where things are at or why things are delayed.
Kylo Ren is just crouching there... silently mocking us with the dearth of information...

Soo, looks like a bunch of stock arrived today!
